Gotta love those Liddonfield Projects. Weren't they supposed to tear down that cesspool years ago? As long as I remember that whole dump has had nothing but trash living in it. If you want a good laugh, drive past it on day as you go down Torresdale. Rows and rows of trash, but they got some nice Camrys and Maximas with 22 inch ghetto chrome rims parked outside.

This person speaks the undisputed truth. Just going to the McDonalds there is adventure. Good thing they can't afford the Dining Car.

The Pathmark is worse. When my parents used to live up here, they had their car broken into in the parking lot while grocery shopping. Have you ever driven through there??? It's gross. I've never seen a Philly cop in there and I don't blame them.

Nope. I love NE philly and bought an older Tacony home last year. I'm in the process of rehabbing it now. My parents couldn't take it anymore and moved south, but I can't give up on my neighborhood yet. I'm getting close though. My car keyed twice, a hit and run by some PWT with no car insurance, my husband's truck sideswiped at night, various other assorted neighborhood crimes are making us look out of state also. It's a shame. Growing up in NE philly was so fun. What a mess it's turned into.

Hey, not only in this country:
Two unarmed police officers who were attacked by a mob of 30 adults and teenagers were today receiving hospital treatment after being bitten, kicked and punched. The officers were attacked by the gang after asking a teenage girl to pick up some litter. Other teenagers and adults then attacked the officers after the girl refused their request and dropped the litter again. One of the officers required hospital treatment after the attack in Northend, Croydon, South London on Wednesday afternoon. Police said violence was sparked after the patrolling officers confronted the teenage girl at about 3pm. They asked her to pick up a fast food wrapper from a nearby takeaway which she did, before immediately dropping it in front of them. When they asked her to pick it up again a friend with the girl became aggressive towards the officers. The incident escalated quickly as a group of 30 people gathered around the officers and attacked them. Around five young females were joined by a group of older males in their thirties and forties. All members of the gang were described as black.

I am new to Philly and have grown to be sorry everyday that passes that I have moved here. The city is a sad city from the lack of pride and the filth not to mention the crime. I am really surprised at how bad off this city is and how little people care about this city. I can't wait to sell my home and move out of here. This has been the worst city I have lived in and not the first place I have lived. Not sure what is so wrong here but, the seems to be a real lack of caring here from the government to the citizens here. How did you all let this get so bad?

Disgusted wrote: LOL how do you know I'm white? Because they assume if you talk with pride, morals or any values that you are white. So sad the way people think here. I say the same why do they assume that we are white just because we choose a better way to behave. So sad to think this way. The thugs are bringing us all down and why do we accept them.

I didn't vote for Mayor Street. My parents raised me to not think everything is entitled to me, like some of these welfare recipients. Generation after generation growing up to pop out more and more kids and get more and more money from the state. Then the city decides to elect a mayor for all intense purposes, turned the city into a 8 year long ghetto BBQ. I am worried about them closing Liddonfield, because all it means is that there will be more destructive section 8 housing in NE philly. Not to mention a bunch of low life criminals living in nice twin homes with central air and garage. Nothing has destroyed NE philly like the intrusion of section 8 and public housing. Just look at this story. I feel bad for my neighborhood. A bunch of hard working families just trying to pay their bills only to have their property values decreasing from the scum moving in to the area. God help us all.
