Those kids are in more jeopardy there, than they are on the streets of Newark.

What about the rioting up in them hills a few weeks ago when the State Police had to be called in and the place had to be under lockdown?

Guess you gotta keep those things under wraps,it would be bad publicity.

Let's see, you lock up known teenage sexual predators with dozens of potential victims, and you are surprised that there are sexual assaults?

Well, DUH!

That is why I would NOT want to have my kid there...

He would learn from other kids how to steal and sell drugs... No-way...

I'm truly not suprised about anything that goes on at KidsPeace.

These juvenile delinquents need to spend some time behind bars.

You should see what they learn in public school.

Since the attacker is 17, he could be sent to trial as an adult.

So why hand the case over to the idiots in the Probation Department??

Why would there not be a criminal investigation and prosecution?

I continue to be astonished at all the comments that are continuously made by many of the same people and by people who never know the complete facts about a place or situation. So quick to condemn, but guess their lives are soooooooo perfect. The incident was wrong, but dont knock the place until you have had experience with it or been there. Kidspeace gets some of the worst of the East coast.

Enough said, but next time think before you open your mouth so wide!
Thank you.

They'll probably pull the: "He's a disturbed child and needs psychological help. He couldn't help it." Bah. They're just gonna protect the guilty here, throw him in with a psychologist for a while and then he'll be on the streets.

I agree with you on this. I think it's just terrible that a 12yr. old had to suffer this abuse at the hands of a 17 year old.

"Some of the worst from the East coast". That's the entire point that people are trying to make. These kids should not be in an unsecured facility with the ability to take off whenever they get the urge. They should be in a detention facility with other convicted, violent predators. The kids who go there voluntarily for help, are subjected to the possiblilty of a gang rape at any moment. So stop drinking the KP koolaid and take a look at what is going on there.

I know, first hand, the facts about this place.

You are correct that Kids Peace gets some of the worse. The problem is Kids Peace itself, likes to portray itself the opposite.

Kids Peace likes to portray itself has having "clients" who are absolutely safe. Safe enough to be in open campus, with no fences. All its "clients" are simply misunderstood kids that just need a little hug and some consistent rules.

I still remember the day that a Kids Peace "client" ended up at my front door. I called Kids Peace and they made it clear that once a "clients" leaves their property, they are no longer responsible for them; not at all. That this kid is now my problem, and if I am unhappy that they are at my house, call the police and have their ass put into jail. Good bye. Click. Dial tone.
