John,

Best of luck to you and your son. You are a nice man, for those who really know you.

Many people on these threads are going to be happy this has happened to you, but it's not right and it's not fair that the IRS has to take every hard dollar we make.

Hang in there John and keep your head up. You'll be back.

Sounds like John fell on the sword to protect his son and the Doc. Good for you John. A suspended sentance and a year or two disbarment, but he will be back.

Stupid move. But I liked the guy. Did have respect for him. Given his ego and limited mentality it was bound to happen.

He suffered from hubris. He fell on his sword and while it may have been a desperate attempt at humility and redemption as he realized he was backed into a corner, perhaps it is the start of something new.

It was all because he mistakenly payed homage to the wrong God, himself and money.

I am sure we have not heard the last from him. Maybe now he can really do something.

BTW there are a ton of characters like him in The Valley, on both sides of the fence. As the economy deteriorates they will be exposed.

Embarrassingly they will come to see what fools they really were in taking themselves seriously and thinking they were untouchable.

Yes, from what I have read of John he is usually a fighter he must have plead guilty to protect his son as he should, since he got his son involved in this mess.

I've gotta laugh at all the idiots screaming 'throw him in jail for not paying his taxes!'.

It's unconstitutional to pay income taxes you ASSES! Remember, we left England because of it. Dumb, poor laborers don't even know there own constitution.

And they think he did something wrong.

Little factoid: Largest group of non-tax payers/those who refuse to pay income taxes? A: Former IRS auditors.

Why? Discovered during the course of employment that forcing wage earners to pay income taxes is unconstitutional.

Here's a quick fact for you guys..

John Karoly successfully defended me when the Allentown Police Department illegally (no warrant) walked into my home! Without people like John to keep them in check, what will the Gestapo get away with now? I pray it isn't me who finds out! Good luck and God speed.

How many hard earned dollars did this crook take from other people. Not to mention all us lower middle class people that don't hide our money from the tax man. If you don't pay your share it hurts the whole country.

I think you have this a little wrong -- John wants to KEEP every dollar he makes, and thinks he's above the law, and wants every dollar, even the ones that he's not entitled to in the first place.

It's really a shame that our society has to pay for the prosecution of someone like this, and has to support someone like this in jail just because he's greedy and doesn't want to pay his fair share of taxes....

Next time you file your income tax returns, and you see a portion of your hard earned money going to pay for new roads, law enforcement and other government services, remember that John apparently didn't think he had to pay his fair share for these services!

He doesn't deserve your pity, he deserves your contempt!
