would you please quote one excuse I have given??

also, since apparently all you want to do is TRY to argue, please note I addressed you as sir/madam.. thus meaning I dont know if you were/are male or female. Stop trying your hardest to make something out of nothing..

no one is saying anything about the way you FEEL....

I think you and many others are still confusing unemployment benefits with simple welfare.

now, show me my words........

ps
I work I volunteer
NOW show me my words..........

People have lost all respect for themselves. To even have a thread where someone is asking "if they are gonna extend unemployment" is a joke.
that statement above is beyond true . it is amazing that someone would even ask that question .what the hell ever happened to self pride and doing whatever you have to do to keep bills paid .nowdays everybody is looking for the handout. get off your lazy gd asses and WORK .quit looking for someone to pay your way through life .guess what ,life aint easy but sometimes you gotta get off your ass swallow your pride and actually get a damm job no matter what it is . i can remember back in the early 80s being unemployed and doing everything in my power to keep from unemployment checks .AND GUESS WHAT i did it by taking any job offered to me . thats the way it use to be .you took the job regardless 'not sitting on your ass waiting for handouts .you had pride and and wanted to work .
You cant even buy a job right now.Where is your brain turn on the tv!I know ppl that has put in everywhere resturants and whatever there is none...

There are people out there with jobs or collecting some type of disability who do not understand the current job market, or just simply have no sympathy for those going through hard times. They think you can just walk into a Denny's and snag a job but most companies can not even afford to hire additional employees, and the ones who are hiring have 100-200 applicants competing for one job. I know a hiring manager who posted a job for an entry-level position and received 200 resumes, where she would have received about 25 for that same position in the past. So the people out there actually looking for jobs are vying for the same position with hundreds of people. Granted, there are people out there who are taking this as an opportunity to sit on their a$$ and collect unemployment or welfare, and I agree if a man does not work, he should not eat BUT how can you judge a person who simply asks if they are extending unemployment?? Accepting unemployment while actively looking for a job is not accepting a handout. It should not be frowned upon. If a person is employed right now, they are truly blessed, but if they are unemploymed and looking for a job-they should continue to accept unemployment until they find a one. Pride goeth before the fall.

isnt an employee a tax payer???
just sayin
true.... I was thinking in what is generally accepted as a reference to individuals as opposed to companies, but you are right, if you have earned income, in most cases, you are a taxpayer. Not I said in "most cases"....

Hack,

You have mentioned Target, Walmarts and UPS are hiring on line. Then you mentioned there are no jobs and then you mention that you as a tax payer has paid into the unemployment insurance which pays for your unemployment.

Yes, people who do pay taxes, pay in a very small portion of this insurance, the rest of the taxes go for welfare moms, illegal aliens getting welfare, food stamps, section 8, rehab of alcoholics and drug addicts, paying for the council people in Louisville which is 4 times more than this city with this type of population needs, it goes to things such as the African American Think Tank (on tv tonight about their embesslement of tax payers fund), it goes for the Hotel on Broadway for homeless who only pay 1 cent per day for many conveniences, it goes for the perks for our local gov. to be able to travel and dine out, it goes for sewers, for police and firemen, for emt workers, garbage pick up, for free utilities to some, etc.

I could go on forever, yet only a small portion of OUR taxes goes to unemployment.

I agree with paying taxing, no matter the amt. to subsidize unemployment but after several mos. you fall into the same category as above---freebies.

If only $30. per week and this is pushing it went to this fund ==$1560 (more like a $1.50 per week). per year X 30 years (this is the amt you stated you have worked)===$46,800.(1 year salary for most).

Sorry if I seemed to be wanting to argue. Not so. I just want to point out we all want something for nothing.

I commend you as a tax payer but where does it stop with a hand out.

We may all be without a job soon, so we need to appreciate there is still jobs and people who want to work regardless of their professional career or background, need to take them.

People such as the piranhas who want to syphon everything in order to not work. This is their main goal---to not work.

Not referencing you, just many people mentioned.

Also, I am warning people do not depend on unemployment, we are hitting rock bottom and there will be nothing, no matter if you worked 60 years, there will be nothing. Depend on yourself and what you can do to not only help yourself but your family.

I am just going by your comments of the jobs available and how you can apply for them, doesn't this pertain to you also?

You stated who expected someone making $1000. per week to go to $200. per week, is a drain on the family. Isn't this going to happen anyway when the unemployment runs out, except it will be -0- per week? Now is the time to get one of those jobs before there are none to get.

ok listen

you still, ms c, havent quoted my words where I have made any type of excuse for not working. If you cant find my words to quote, please say so.
your argument against anything I have said about those jobs being applied for on line isnt holding water!!!! for you see, ms c, I stated to APPLY FOR those jobs, in the text of the discussion of on line job hunting, NOT necessarily they were HIRING ON LINE!!!!! what are you trying to say, exactly? yes ma'am those FULL TIME jobs are hard to find and anyone with one better hold on to with white knuckles.
I see nothing wrong with a person collecting unemployment while they are looking for FULL TIME WORK.. what do you see wrong with it???? I dont see anything wrong with a person working part time and collecting unemployment as long as they report it. what exactly do YOU see wrong with it?( dont discuss the people who draw and work the system, they exist in everything)
if the person is collecting without trying to find a job, that is another issue and apparently YOU and Vamp are equating EVERYONE who is drawing unemployment as a freeloader and I dont think that is fair. I guess we could challenge you two, put out the feelers for FULL TIME employment and report back to us how far you get. FULL TIME folks...
HMM said it perfectly THANK YOU HMMMMM

16m people are out of work right now. There is nothing wrong with collecting it while you look for work. For every job advertised, tons of people apply for that position.I just think that people who are gainfully employed in a secure job just dont understand sometimes. There are going to be people who do abuse the system as well all know, but most individuals use it to pay bills and keep a roof over their heads.I was unemployed one time for 4 months till i found a new job.It just takes longer than before to find something with so many people unemployed these days. And most postings these days are online where you rarely talk to a person on the phone, let alone see them in person.I saw somewhere where it probably wont get back to 5% until 2013 or later.Hang in there.

My last try.

What if unemployment runs out, what will you live on?

Making $100 weekly is better than -0-.So you have a $1300 mrtg.(this is just a made up amt.)how are you going to pay for this if unemployment is not there to give you anything?

Unemployment is running dry, meaning THERE IS NO MORE MONEY LEFT.

I can go into the small town of Shelbyville where I live and get 1 and even 2 part time jobs even at my age if I need it.

I may need it one day, so be it.

Its better than -0-.

This is not condemnation, its reality.

well chy I guess I will hope to continue to live on my wages and not lose my job!!!!! there you go assuming again!!!! you really need to stop that.
you still have failed to quote where I was making an excuse for not working
you have failed on every point of your argument, for you are not connecting any of your points. You are all over the board...
you are trying to blame people for something you dont even know what you are blaming them for!!!
you kept saying people should volunteer then suggest people should get a couple part time jobs, well how in the world would someone find the time for both?!!!! Cause, someone would have to work alot of hours at those part time jobs to live..... just sayin
you have said unemployment is basically an excuse for not working... wth?????
it is ok
oh btw remember when you made some sort of reference to tax vs wage and you got some figure of $46,000?? well, lets look at that for a minute!!!
I believe under unemployment a person doesnt get their full wages, right?
ok
lets see, an average ui check is something like $300 so why dont you do some more sypherin for us, hon.
the way I see it, if I have donated about $46,000 in taxes toward unemployment, the person claiming that $300 check, well I am happy to help them out for what 2 years +!!!!!! I sure cant get that to come up to $46,000!!!!!!
or what about those people who are claiming a check of about $200??? MY GOODNESS hon, I am happy to help: I cant get that to come out to that $46,000 either!!!! Not like when you say that is one years salary!!!!!! uh, not quite!!!!!!!!!
see, you arent connecting your points...
I think I understand the point you are TRYING to make.... people need to not rely on unemployment and try to find jobs and get part time work if they are in dire straights
.... welll DUH!!!!
the point we are trying to make is this, unemployment is a help while a person is looking for a job. It isnt a free handout, like you are trying to make it out to be, for it is taxable. Lets hope and pray employers continue to employ people, for each employer pays that tax that goes into the fund.... it wont "run dry" chy as long as employers are employing people......
btw
please explain to all of us how unemployment is running dry?????
chy, we may have a better time getting your point if you would make more sense.

Chy keeps talking like there are jobs out there... I would like for ms c to tell us all where the jobs are that she is referring. Not part time jobs.... full time jobs.
It is another connect the point issue... oh I am sure you can find a couple part time jobs. I want Chy to tell us where the full time jobs are that would get people off of unemployment. I still say, they aint out there and we should thank GOD for the ones we have.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Gemini

If you're currently keeping something secret it will really start to prey on your mind today and you'll worry about blurting it out at the wrong moment. It's one of those days in which you're absent-minded and completely wrapped up in your own thoughts. As a result, it will be hard to concentrate on anything else and this won't go down well in certain quarters.
