Thumbs down! The shop owner/artist, Graydon, takes the cake for worst artist in seattle. Very flaky, unprofessional, disrespectful, and arrogant.

There are two Rooster Down Tattoo Galleries, please do not confuse with the Ballard tattoo parlor.

graydon does quality work, really takes his time when he tattoos. his detail is worth putting up with him. had be rescheduled like 7 times cause the guy didnt show up. graydon if you read this you have to stop over promising your work because you're risking pissing a lot of people off and oh man do i hear things. put down the bottle and show some commitment to your clients. especially to the ones who brought you so much business!

was really disappointed. made appointments with graydon, whos work i do love, and he didn't show up or call. ended up getting "ok" tattoos by another guy in the shop. took 7 hours for 4 hours worth of work. didn't tip. saw a few days later that they were posting "if you're cool, you'll tip". this really turned me off from wanting to ever go back.

met Ben Bowlin at a local tattoo convention and was impressed right off the bat. He immediately said hello and offered to answer any questions we had. The whole staff from the Ballard location at the convention was nice and friendly vs. the other shops attending that acted more like we were interrupting their day by stopping in. Ben finished a piece that I had started a few years ago and wasn't completely pleased with the original artist. I LOVE what he did. I look at it everyday and know I made the right choice in artist. I highly recommend! His colors and lines are beautiful. Thank you Ben!

Due to popular belief and nasty rumors, I am a very busy business owner who has opened and am juggling 2 businesses, to those clients who have fallen disappointed I do apologize and if there was any rescheduling it is due to a priority basis...I will reschedule friends and clients who I am giving gross discounts to and the above comments I know reflect 1 or the other, I have made a professional decision no longer to offer deals and to treat all of those who appreciate my artwork, friends or new clients with the same respect. To those who support our business and my art thank you...and to those who may be taking interest thank you and look forward to meeting you soon....RDTG

hahahahahahahaha, yeah right. Someone is bitter about something, way to try and humiliate someone! Get a hobby and a boyfriend. Loser! That guy is a lot of things but none of those, he trumps most artists in the Seattle area, he is a good friend and a great artist. Hopefully people don't listen to this crap.

Rdtg (des moines) is freaking sick, got all but one of my tattoos done there and they do exceptional work. They make you feel comfortable and always book around my schedule. Keep it up guys, and make that money ;)

I made an appointment to get a couple of dolphins on my butt cheek. When I showed up he said he "Didn't feel like doing a butt right now." Must be nice to have so much work you can jerk a customer around. Remember, an unhappy customer will go out of his way to spread the word. Reading these other comments makes me glad I got brushed off.

Tattoos seem to be the new long hair. Everyone is doing it from jr high kids on up. But when you got tired of the hair you just cut it.

My name is Scot and I live in the area around Ballard. Moreover, at the end of Oct I walked into the new Rooster Downs location and spoke with the owner Graydon Payne. Furthermore, he gave me a tour of this new building which looked awesome, I then booked an appt for Nov 1st at 6:30pm to have some new ink done. However, over the next month Graydon booked four different appointments to do my Tattoo and No called no showed me on four separate times after I had showed up at the shop to have my work done. I spoke with Joe who does the piercings at the shop and time after time he apologized for Garydon’s behavior. I received an e-mail from Graydon the other day stating he would be at the Ballard shop between 1pm & 2pm on Sat 11/19/2011 so I could get a refund on my deposit. Once, again I showed up and Graydon is nowhere to be found. I am greeted by Joe who tells me Graydon never works on the weekend. I cannot figure out why I have been treated in such a bad manner with so little regard & respect for my time. Consequently for a new shop that is trying to get new customers and establish itself in the Ballard community this is no way for anyone to be treated.

i have heard that the piercer in the ballard location is actually a really great guy and does great work. i hope he finds a new place to work before rooster down goes down. worst experience i've ever had and i hear nothing but bad stories including ones that are told to other tattoo shops about the awful experiences people have had there. i will now have to pay someone to redo the terrible tattoo i received there after agreeing to let someone else do it since graydon didn't show up for my appointment.
