This sends the wrong message to the thugs and crooks and murderers on the street. Kill someone and you can get sentenced to death. Then, right before they hook you up to the IV's, you can get a second chance to kill again.
Way to go!

Christa Pike was my patient at TPW and is totally the most evil person I have ever seen. Her spiritual adviser, a satanic priest, came to see her as allowed and she still practices satanism. She is rottening from the inside out, her teeth have all rotted and are falling out. I have seen her face distort and heard her voice and the rhythm of her speech remain the same. It was her choice for electrocution so don't pitty her. The first syllable in convict is CON and anybody that feels sorry for her has been conned! The death penalty is what she gave her victim so it's the right thing to do to her. My deepest condolences to the Sleemer family, may God give you peace.
whats up with that

Christa Pike did a horrible thing. Killing her does not bring Colleen Slemmer back. Life in prison is no kind of life. Contrary to what the media would have you believe, you do not have cable TV, swimming pools, poker games, etc. It is a miserable, vulnerable existence. It might be better for Ms. Pike to spend her life in prison reflecting on what she has done. I have read the book about this case and reviewed the case extensively and also recentle watched a special on women on death row. I do not believe that Christa Pike has accepted FULL responsibility for what she has done. Maybe it is too much for her to come to terms with what she is and that is a murderer. People can change but they must still face their consequences. Life in prison with no possibility of parole would be a fair punishment for her. What have we really accomplished with our legal murder if we execute her? It will NOT give closure to Colleen Slemmer's family nor will it bring her back. Two wrongs don't make a right-statistically or logically.
Not only would her execution be a lesson to others, as long as she is alive and in prison there is the possibility that she would be paroled for some reason. That should never happen.

Had she not committed the first wrong, the second would never have come into play.

I think it was bad what she did. But anyone who thinks she should die is sick. I dont even know why death row is allowed. because that is murder as well. just with a fancy name and in the law. there is nothing different between the death sentence and murder. they are both 2 cruel things. and i think that she deserves a second chance in life. they should let her out and keep her in maybe a house arrest or just have someone keep an eye on her. and if she does anything stupid like try to hurt someone again then str8 back to prison. i hope she doesnt get life in prison and i hope she doesnt get the death sentence either. thats my opion.
Ok,just an idea but let her come stay with you and your family. You can keep an eye on her.

Christa Pike isnt really known in the UK - although her death sentence did get some coverage in the media at the time. The last execution in the UK took place in 1964 and the death sentence was abolished shortly afterwards. In the UK there is a sentence of "Life Without Parole" which applies to our most heinous criminals such as Rosemary West, Ian Brady, Ian Huntley and a few others. Although I am very sympathetic to Colleen's family I don't think the death sentence solves anything - in particular what must be galling for her family is the sight of Christa bemoaning her 23 hours per day captivity. I think if Christa had life without parole - the media would lose interest and Colleen's family might be spared the spectacle of Christa being interviewed and being accorded a sick "criminal celebrity" status. Given her second murder attempt I think Society could never accept her release and awful though it may seem we are all safer if she is kept inside.(even in Britain!)
This is surprising. The Brits are some of the most blood thirsty group of all time. Just stroll throught the Tower of London, gives you a good idea.

I say hang the bisch from her pubes and slice off her nips and cover in sea salt.

Did the girl she brutally murdered get a second chance? Until she does, this animal shouldn't. It seems pretty simple, huh?

Maybe you should consult with the Slemmer family before you try to speak for them. This butcher committed a cold-blooded murder and deserves to DIE!

My question would be to anyone: What would Jesus do? That is the ultimate question. Does she deserve to die for her crime. YES. However whos place is it to make that happen. We all will stand before our creator one day and be judged by him. Christa will do the same. We should not allow her blood to be on someone elses hands. Two wrongs do not make a right. She is deserving of forgiveness yes, not deserving of freedom!

To those who say that it is not our place to judge her, but God's, I say: So send her to judgement.

I met Christa today at the TPW. Very interesting girl, I haven't formed an opinion yet - I'm still researching. She was very personable, showed pictures from her past, answered our questions, cried when she found out one of the ladies I was with was pregnant with twins. I would love to spend more time speaking to her. She did tell me she never dreamed of the crime - which I found very interesting.

We dont believe in an eye for an eye maybe too civiliced? If you have read the report of her medical investigation. You can imagine that keeping her on a deadrow is a CRIME. Thank God we live here in Holland.

She can have a second chance at life when her victim gets one and not before. Life is full of choices whether you were abused or not you still should know right from wrong. All these killer keep saying how they had such a bad life so they make someone else's worse?

I don't think she should be put to death. Death is too easy. Let her suffer in jail.

Putting morality aside (since morality is ultimately subjective) she should stay in jail in order to protect society. Seriously, do you want this woman running around free and possibly committing another murder?

Yes, we are glad you are in Holland. In America we do believe in the death penalty for pre-meditated, cold blooded murder. The only problem is it takes too long from the time they are sentenced until the sentence is carried out. You are right about it being criminal that she has been in prison so long. She should have received her punishment immediately after she was sentenced. She should already be dead like her victim.

I will the Second Chance she is so desperately seeking. All she needs to do is put her head in front of my tire and she will soon know whether or not she gets a second chance at life. But I some how doubt it.

Good one! I can't believe people are actually saying this evil bitch deserves to have the death penalty spared for this POS. Put them in front of your tires also since they have so much sympathy for her.
