Sensible' salt policy isn't very slick

Nothing has made my eyes roll this winter like the "sensible salting" policy in many suburbs.

It's hard to believe that the City would try to save a few bucks on salt while they plan for the installation of Wi-Fi at the Arts Center for $30,000 and want to increase ambulance rates in the City. How about the Steinways at the Arts Center?

How about the 75 new golf carts they want to buy for Grantwood? They're spending taxpayer money like there's no tomorrow. A few weeks ago at a council meeting, Bob Paulson, Solon's former mayor, suggested they solicit professional golf course management companies to take ove this operation. There's also a letter on SOLONJOE.COM talking about this. It appears that council is not going to pursue that avenue.
