Well if your a disabled veteran and a liberal that disability check changes from the gratitude of a grateful nation, to a welfare check Here's a recent exchange on topix

No doubt that the grizzlies and mountain lions enjoy your company and explains a lot. Also interesting that you would say your definitely not going to heaven, want to live in God's country, but imply that you disbelieve in God. Live of the efforts of others, a typical Democrat trait, and look forward to maybe becoming grizzly bear stuff.
I look forward to you becoming grizzly bear stuff too, sounds like a plan.
“Living off the efforts of others,“
Here’s what my efforts for others got me.
The numbers are some kind of VA injury code
9411 Post Traumatic Stress Disorder 100%
(I’m crazy and I have the papers to prove it)
5142 Amputation of the thumb and index fingers 50%
(with a resultant loss of use of a limb)
5237 Lumbosacral or Cervical strain 40%(Gunshot wound across the spine)
8514 Paralysis of the radial nerve 20%(Result of the spinal injury)
5321 injury to muscles of respiration 10%( grenade fragment still in my chest)
7121 Post phlebitis syndrome 0 %
( I don’t know what that is.)
That all gets combined to 100%
It doesn’t bother me that you make light of my getting wounded , but your pushing the envelope when it comes when you make it sound like I’m some kind of welfare cheat. We both know I’m crazy so it would probably be a good idea to find another tool to vent your frustration. Oh and remember my lack of typing skills is also related my wounds.
PS, If you weren’t so bent on evening the score you would have seen the intended satire in the God thing and not gotten so critical. I love irony that’s why I don’t really mind reference to my disability check being referred to as a welfare check it’s the sarcasm , I have a problem with it. So in the end I have to ask. Just who the hell do you think you are, and what is your claim to fame?

I was retired from the Army in 1968 for physical disability. I can honestly say I have never had a problem with the VA about anything.
The biggest problem is the number of phony veterans who clog up the system with phony claims and than file appeal after appeal on them.
I warned people when the war in Iraq started to be prepared when the bill come due. It's a win - win for those single mother who had to join the military because of the Reagan welfare cut's because almost everybody who served in Irag has a valid PTSD claim by the old criteria.
So all you peole who were in a hurry to rush to war have fun paying for it.

what was doing right by them? Tortures, rapes, genocide, war crimes, crime against humanity. Are such terrible crimes right in your opinion? It can be that your demoralisation and psychopaty reach new far horizons.
Nothing was right by them. Only global crime against humanity - it is just what they did.

I used to treat prisoners they way I would have wanted to be treated, if we had that golden rule mindset in Afganistan 5-6 years ago we could have declared mission accomplished and walked away. Now it'll take years and $ billions of dollars to undo the damage the bush administration allowed to go on.

I would settle for ex combat vet's getting priority over ilegals in public housing and enforcement of employment laws for returning NG and reserves
The Patrick admin treats criminals better than soldiers and is more concerned with Cori reform so he can make sure drug dealers, muggers, and thieves can get work.
Well it makes sense he is a crook, so he wants to treat crooks well.

Everyone that does a tour in Iraq and Afghanistan feels they are entitled to some sort of compensation, so they seek whatever angles they can find. For one, I know of someone claiming disability for shin splints. I run frequently and have gotten shin splints before. It's called ice and advil, why should they collect? So I can understand your critism on "fake" claims and veterans abusing the system--wasting time for the really injured veterans.

That's total BS. The head of the State Veterans Services is a Medal of Honor winner, from Vietnam who has terrible scaring from that incident. I met him on my way to the VA clinic in Boston he noticed my shirt from the 75th Ranger Regt Assn. and asked me if I was really a LRRP, when I said yes he asked me if I had any problems, I said no and he told me to contact him if I ever did.
As for the NG + reserves well Vietnam gave them a bad rap and I still have a hard time reconciling how I feel about them and they way they were used in Vietnam by connected people to avoid combat.
Now that they have been betrayed by a man who used the system to avoid combat I don't know how they feel. I do know that marital break ups are at epidemic levels because of bush's ill advised polices to use them.
Two NG units did serve in Nam one was a LRRP company from the Indiana and an artillery unit I believe from Kentucky
Some benefits I get from the state include
$1000 property tax abatement
Excise tax exemption on 1 vehicle.
Free Purple Heart plates.
Free tuition at state colleges.
and there is much more for guy's down and out on their luck

One thing I've noticed with my experience helping guy's with PTSD claims. Once they find out what the symptoms are their behavior changes and they start acting on them. In the past a lot of phony's got through and the VA started looking for documentation which slowed down the process and really didn't do much to eliminate the phony's, who promptly appeal. I helped a lot people get 100% awards for PTSD, but if the man didn't have a combat arms MOS I don't want to know them because I hate REMF's more than george bush and dick cheney. Now however having a drivers license is more dangerous than being an infantryman.
