"sad to say" - I apologize for OG people. We aren't all that way. There's some of us who are friendly and will smile back.:)

this used to be a nice, quiet, clean, friendly town, 30 years ago that is. now that calallen is growing all the riff raff, and wanna be country folk have been flooding our small town for the past 15 years. look at all the housing areas that are growing up. these people move in from the city and bring the city life with them! noise, dumping trash, drugs, rude driving.
there is no "bad" side of town, the only bad things are rude neighbors etc.
as for what was said about north of four way stop, that's the oldest side of town idiots! most of those homes where build in the 1930's and most of those residents have there since then. they keep to themselves and are good neighbors.
the south side of town with the schools is the "busy body" side with people always trying to "pretend" the have lots of $$$$, which we all know that you don't.
the best thing to do is be a good neighbor, keep to yourself, keep your property clean, keep your dogs in your yard, keep your kids under control, don't trash out town and don't talk trash about those around you.

most of the people in this town like to keep to themselves. that's what the country used to be about. if the people that lived here wanted too know everybody around them, then they would live in the city. a lot of people have been here all their lives, parents settled here, went to school here, had kids and raised them here. these people stayed to themselves, but knew their neighbors, and look out for them.
city people keep pushing out here, and developing farmland into housing subdivisions, and the people that where already out here now have to get used to having all these people around.
most of the people in orange grove had no neighbors, just cattle country and farmland, and know all that is going away.
so if they are not "friendly" and outgoing its because they are having to adjust to the loss of the REAL COUNTRY LIFE, to know having neighbors.
give people a break. just way hi. if they want to wave hi back that's fine.
but don't expect this place to be the city. don't push yourselves on your neighbors. respect your neighbors right to privacy. that's what they had before and that's really what they still want. to be left alone.
