I frequent the route one at night often. The cops are always out speeding past me, and I'm usually going fairly fast at night. The fact that the police said they took a sudden left and not a illegal left says it all. the police are to blame. The same night i saw one cruiser speeding on route one for no reason at all, i heard the engine screaming and no sirens.

I also frequent that road at night coming home from work and the teenagers are constantly speeding past me, making u-turns, cutting people off, and weaving in and out and of course going thru red lights. And laughing all the while. They think driving is a big joke. They can set up all the memorials they want and hug and cry at the scene, but they will NEVER learn. Soon we'll be reading about someone else.

The kids fault? What planet are you on. It is abundantly clear this horrible tragedy was caused by cops, who witnesses said they saw speeding.
Don't always blame the teens. This time it is obvious the cops are at fault.

This is a sad story that had me in tears. I don't think those teens were to blame. I have seen police speeding all over the place, espically in Milford and late at night.
Stop these supposed "law enforcement" drag racers before they kill someone else.

If the car hadn't turned on front of the police car we wouldn't be reading about it. Whoever was driving the other car caused the accident.

It sounds like the fault will be shared by both drivers. The possibility of allegedly driving too fast could be a factor in the accident as well as the teen driver failing to grant the right of way with an alleged sudden left turn into the cruiser's path. There are many things for the accident team to check before the decision of which vehicle bears how much fault.

Regardless of whose at fault, I feel terrible for the families! I will keep them in my prayers.

That said, I think everybody (cops included) need to slow down, so stuff like this does not keep happening. If the cops were speeding NOT responding to a call, and not w/o their emergency sirens on, than that makes their speeding (if they were) very wrong.

Even if the teen driver did turn improperly, unless the cop was speeding it would NOT have caused the kind of devastation to the car that occurred.
Some simpletons just can't bring themselves to blame the police for anything. Wake up. These are the same Milford cops who tasered a guy to death, and have been guilty of so much police brutality.
These cops are pigs. Let's hope the state police doesn't cover it up.

Scumball cops will spin the outcome to blame the kids NO DOUBT. Cops have to be held accountable for their over zealous actions. They think they can do WHATEVER they want because they're cops. " dick cops, dick cops whatcha gonna do, gonna mess with you cuz I can eff you"
What's the matter "Heroes", fail one too many police tests and now you're stuck pumping gas for a living? Why don't you wait for the complete investigation, toxicology results on the victim driver, and we'll see who's at fault. If the victim driver turned left in front of the other vehicle, that says it all!

Maybe the kids were speeding. That would cause the same devastation.
You obviously were there to measure the skid marks and the crush damage and educated enough to formulate the principle direction of force in order to calculate impact speeds.
And you already got the autopsy report too.

i heard the state police know exactly what happened -- two police cars were drag racing on the Boston Post Road. I hope they get arrested and sent to jail -- the both of them! i suggest that the parents hire themselves really good attorneys because this should never ever happen! what a bunch of yahoos we have for police these days.

You must be going by what the article says and the parents of David who were told that they saw the officer's vehicle speeding because I never saw that in the news footage so based on that statement the cops is wrong. You are a Moron then. It's amazing how when something tragic like this happens witnesses come out of the wood works to get credit in the paper yet they are never seen by the police investigating the accident. Second the cops are always speeding at night, yet as I remember two different accident along Route 1 near the Mall killed teens. The common factor speed not by the cops but by the teens who feel that it's okay to drive like a bat out of hell in that stretch of road and be irresponsible. Let those in charge of the investigation conduct that investigation and let the chips fall where they may.

I feel for the families of the deceased, however, police respond to calls very often without lights and sirens, it's not required. Also the article states that Milford had 5 officers assisting in mutual aid, it's understandable that the officers would try to get back to Milford after spending 2 hours in West Haven. Bottom line is that when you are making a left turn you MUST yield to oncoming traffic. Of course the officer's speed played a factor, but unless his headlights were off the unfortunate reality is that whomever was driving the civilian car is at fault. BTW the only time there is a thing called an "illegal left" is when there is a sign posted stating NO LEFT TURN, seems to not be the case. My prayers are with all the families involved.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Scorpio

If you haven't seen certain people during the past few days, how about inviting them over for a drink or a meal? You're feeling sociable and will enjoy doing some light entertaining although you'll draw the line at anything too strenuous. It's a lovely day for being in familiar surroundings with some familiar faces, even if all you do is flop on the sofa.
