No surprise there. Defense simply wants to present an accurate picture of who Martin was immediately preceeding this event. The prosecution would like you to believe he wa the smiling 12 yr old as portrayed by the media which was clearly not the case.

Already public record and no attempt made to hide it, unlike Travyon "NO LIMIT N**A"'s school records. An impartial observer would have to wonder why the imediate sealing of all dear little Trayvon's records, why family released only very old and outdated pictures.....why, a cynic might think that they and their attorneys were trying to fool the public into thinking that dear little Trayvon, who in fact was a violent little thug, was an innocent choir boy in order to financially benefit from the death of the kid they didn't care enough to look for when he didn't come home from the store...or wherever else he was and whatever else he was doing on the night he attacked and attempted to murder George Zimmerman.

Exactly. Trashing the victim is wrong on all levels. Trayvon Martin was 'armed and dangerous' with a pack of Skittles and an Arizona Iced Tea?
Mr. Zimmerman is the real victim here. And just because little 6'2 trayvon didn't have a gun or a knife doesn't mean the wouldn't kill Zim in a bare handed attack.

It's very obvious that Trayvon Martin was doing his best to kill Mr. Zimmerman. Only the fortunate fact that he had a gun and was able to get to it and kill his attacker saved Mr. Zimmerman's life, or at the very least, saved him from brain damage. The human brain will not take much banging around on a hard surface, and Trayvon Martin was clearly going to keep going until Mr. Zimmerman was dead. Those who portray Trayvon Martin as an innocent child are outright liars.

I haven't made a personal decision on this~~
I'm going to wait for the trial.
I can say this, I've never seen such an outpouring of sensationalism like this case has caused.
It's strange how we humans pick and choose what intrigues us.

Indeed. I would be much less intrigued if this case didn't have such huge ramifications as a precedent. If Mr. Zimmerman can't protect himself against an assault, neither can the rest of us in Florida who have permits to carry and every intention of shooting an assailant if necessary. I certainly hope that I never have occasion to have to do it, but I also certainly hope that my right to protect myself is upheld in this case. This incident happened about 10-15 miles from my home, and everything from the long-term effects of this case to the short-term effects of the race-baiters coming to town to hold their "rallies" affects my everyday life. After looking at the evidence, I am convinced of Mr. Zimmerman's innocence. I really wish some of this weirdo stuff would happen somewhere other than Central Florida.......after the Casey Anthony mess, we should have been allowed a few years of relative peace, IMO!!!

This is a non-story- it has been from Day One.

The only thing it did was (once again) expose blatant racism within the black community.

I disagree. The actual self-defense shooting was a non-story, but once the greedy incubator and sperm donor got the race baiters involved it became a very big story. When the governor bowed to the pressure of threats of riots and appointed the "special" prosecutor, who then behaved in an amazingly unprofessional fashion and brought the indictment against Mr. Zimmerman, it became a HUGE story. This case could overturn the SYG law and/or the self-defense laws of FL. If George Zimmerman is not free to defend himself and his neighborhood from a violent thug, none of us are free to defend ourselves. Unlike the C.A. story, which was of interest to people just because the characters were so weird, this one has ramifications that affect every Floridian's ability to defend themselves against violence.

And that's why he'll be found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. FL politicians are going to do their best to see that gun laws and SYG do not come into the equation. The defense will try to use them, but if the judge is sane, he will rule them as irrelevant to the case. And, IMO, they are. This isn't about how the 'law' may or may not have precipitated the events- this is about two guys who got into an altercation and one wound up dead. From what I've read, Zimmerman initiated the confrontation. If so, it could be argued that Trayvon was standing HIS ground in response to a threat that he perceived.

I know that's a stretch, but somehow I think this case has already been decided behind closed doors. They have to have a verdict that keeps the 'natives' calm, and they need any debate about highly cherished laws to stay out of the conversation.

I arrived at this point of view due to those two robbery attempts at casinos. Remember them? One patron, an old guy, shot the thugs with his CW. The other was a security guard doing the shooting. No SYG debate sparked from those, was there? Not even from the 'community' to which the thugs belonged.

<quoted text>Mr. Zimmerman does have an arrest record, but ZERO convictions. That's why he qualified for a permit to carry. They were minor issues that happened when he was very young. Heck, he's still very young IMO. They were not on a par with the uncharged violations of Trayvon Martin (and I'd really like to know why he WASN'T charged). His school suspensions were for vandalism and drug-related issues. He also had a bag of unexplained women's jewelry and a screwdriver in his backpack at school. IMO, he should have been charged with vandalism at the very least, and it seems that no one made too much effort to find out why he was carrying a bag of women's jewelry around with him. Perhaps if the school had called the cops and had the little delinquent arrested, he wouldn't have escalated to the physical attack on Mr. Zimmerman that led to his death. This kid's parents should be apologizing to George Zimmerman for not teaching their kid how to act, not trying to cash in on his death. They truly sicken me.

They're going to get him on something just to avoid another Great American Chimp Out, but I don't think changing existing gun laws will come up. It's too much of a hot button topic for any politician to take on.
