For the many may many many poor and low income residents of the largest city in the county there is never enough dollar stores. This is a city of low income and poor people. Most kids in the schools here get free lunches because of their family's income. They have food pantries in the schools. What do people expect macy's or a Gucci store?

Macy's and Gucci currently can't afford to build new locations, even in Deltona. As the article suggested, that land and those buildings will be worth big bucks when the economy comes back around and since those buildings can house other sorts of businesses it's a no brainer...just imagine a Victoria's Secret across the street from the new fire hall.

Y should it be across from the firestation. Y not on that real expensive land we bought right next to firestation and is sitting ready but has no takers. It's a good location for Hooter's. Come on Macy's and Gucci wouldn't ever under any circumstances build in Deltona no matter what the economy is unless they are looking to go bankrupt. You are assuming that when the economy comes back the dollar stores will close and want to sell. What all of a sudden the very very poor become wealthy. Deltona will always be a city of low income people. Farmton in the future will be where the upscale business will go and wealthy peole will live.

Wealthy? LMAO! Victoria Park is a couple of miles up the road, not wealthy but not many pit bulls running loose, no sales persons or JW's, definitely no Dollar Stores or Dare Wear's and no clueless politicians. What are you waiting for?

If and when Farmton kicks off it will be built from East to West, you won't live long enough nor will your kids.

Whatever drop by more often, I'm inspired by your positive outlook and your sense of humor.

Dollar General had a store in the Deltona Plaza for many years, but it was closed following a robbery and the murder of two employees in 2002. This is why we don't want another Dollar General!!!!!! They hire anyone. Even before a back ground check is done!!! Thats just asking for more crime!
