You have freedom of speech and are welcome to your opinion but if it differs from the majority you better bet your freedom ends there. After all, this IS Oran.

I wonder why our justice system has so many flaws, that an individual acting as an adult, can recklessly take lives and only get a year of time. Hell you beat the brakes off someone and you get more time than that. The outcome of this was a real good lesson to show the kids how much trouble....or should I say a slap on the wrist you can get for drinking and driving!!!

You want people just to roll over and have a little respect. But where is your respect. In New York just recently there was a new law passed called Leandras Law. Thanks to a father that didn't shut up and didn't give up and roll over after his daughter was killed while a passenger of a drunk driver this new law is now in affect.

http://www.leandraslaw.info/

So while you want people to shut up on the subject, all you really are doing is possibly causing more hurt in the future.

Missouri needs laws like the one about.

Rollover, I think this is an important law as well. However, it was my understanding that this boy was not drunk having a blood alcohol of less than half the legal limit and that the accident was caused by driving too fast. Tragedy ... but not at the hands of a drunk driver.

I apologize, I do not know for fact that there was alcohol in his blood - just what I was told. We should not repeat what is not backed by fact.

Exactly! He is not an adult! It has nothing to do with anything other than the fact that kids don't take consequences into consideration like 'some' adults do. He has to live with this for the rest of his life. It is very tragic what happened but frankly I'm tired of hearing about it and I know they have to be too. Let these people go on with their lives and stop throwing it up in their faces all the time. It's not a matter of freedom of speech. It's a matter of common decency! Please let them move on.

Kid marches into a school shoots it up killing 10-12 kids hes charged as an adult. People talk about it for a decade. Guess the family members and friends of said child just has to deal with it.

Common decency is not sweeping something under a rug just so a few can be happy. But hey thier loved ones are still alive. If they weren't it would be a whole nother story. I know if it had been one of my family members killed I would never shut up.

But I didn't start this thread. And normally don't talk about the stuff. But telling someone to drop it when they feel strongly about something is the wrong thing to do. Just because you have your opinion on the matter doesn't mean that others shouldn't too. Even if they don't match yours.

Well then why not talk about the kids that were killed? They were just as gulity as he was. A premeditated school shooting is a bit different. Those kids were mass murderers and thought long and hard before committing those crimes so I think comparing this to that is quite a stretch. Even so, is it right that the families have to deal with it because others are angry? Did the families do it or did these children do it? I'm not saying that no one else should have an opinion, I just think it is selfish to keep dragging the families through this just because you're angry. Move on and let them do the same.

You're right. They were drinking just like he was. If it had been them driving instead, he may be dead and they may be getting a "slap on the wrist". If folks would just look at it that way, it could have been any of the kids driving!

But it wasn't coulda shoulda woulda whatever. And no two of them couln't have been driving for they weren't even old enough to drive. And of course all involved were guilty of doing something they shouldn't.. But that doesn't change the facts of who was driving. And who acted wrecklessly. Who is to say any of the other three of age to drive would have drove wrecklessly. So really that theroy doesn't float.

Who's to say that the ones who weren't old enough to drive wouldn't have driven? They all weren't old enough to drink and weren't they all drinking? So really 2 of them could have been driving. They ALL acted recklessly. ALL of them. No one made any of them get in the truck. They ALL made a choice. A bad one, but they made it.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aries

There are mixed messages flying around in the ether today, so be wary about drawing any concrete conclusions from what happens now. Even though you don't realize it, you may be misreading the signs that someone is sending out, which will lead to complications later on. Be especially careful about indulging in romantic daydreams and then believing them.
