Armed Veteran wrote: <quoted text> Murder is already illegal, and even punishable by death in some places. How much more strict do you think we can get before people will stop killing each other? Armed robbery is illegal. hasn't stopped anyone from ropbbing the local 7-11 yet, has it? There are over 20,000 gun control laws on the books nationally now. How many more do you think it will take before the criminals finally start to follow them??? Oh, please. Everyone knows murder is illegal. What I'm talking about is homicide on a mass scale...I dare say we have a terrorist operation brewing right here in the good ole US of A. But, noooo, don't touch our guns, Mr. Prezyyy.

What gives The Obamniac the right to murder American citizens ?(Anwar al-Aulaqi for one, and probably scores or more that we don't know about. THIS is what the Democratic Party stands for ?!)

In the beginning, only a select few could vote, and it was awhile before the majority could vote, mainly, women and ethnic minorities. You need to refresh your knowledge of American history. I support our government, our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and everything else that is America, but I do not support people abusing the law, not supporting enacting regulations and laws that will benefit everyone and keep us safer like those enacted by Homeland Secruity post-9/11. "Commies!" They screamed. But it was they who first screamed for help from the government after 9/11. They are doing the same thing with this violence outbreak. "Oh, protect us, protect us." Then logical people say, "Make stricter gun laws, make it difficult for these lunatics to gain their liscenses and whatnot, and make it impossible to purchase ammo online." What do gun toters say, "Oh my God! Pigs! Socialists!...well, everything you said in reply to my posts about this topic. SMILES Both you and "Fafox" don't understand the difference between "principles" and practical application. Maybe the two of you can figure out why we had slavery and the massacre of the Red Man when "all men are created equal".

When the U.S. Constitution was written adn ratified, the "right to vote" was a power given to the states, where it still resides. The U.S. Constitution as written and ratifed in 1789 says nothing about "majority rule" and voting. Why don't you study the U.S. Constitution some time ?

Nice dodge and deflect. Now how about answering the questions? How much more strict do you think we can get before people will stop killing each other? How many more laws do you think it will take before the criminals finally start to follow them???

FaFoxy wrote: <quoted text> I studied Constitutional Law in college. Obviously you don't know anything about it, nor have you ever read it. If I knew you studied in collage I should no have replied. First should we have a course on how to screw in a light bub ? The founding fathers swore off two things: 1) The Kings law 2) European Christianity They did not reject English common law. You are confusing many things such as Federal elections verses State elections. At the founding the states were more powerful then the Feds. State right prevailed but that did not stop majority rule as larger more populous states had more power and this was the reason for equal representation in the Senate. The states only elect the President. People were largely uneducated and widely dispersed , natives considered savages ,blacks considered property , Chinese , Irish , Italians and many others would become indentured servants. This would take a long time to sort out and just like today the rich had the influence. None of this means that the principle of majority rule was not there ,it was a principle not a practice.

Yes, that was an aspiring statement with so much truth behind it, but let me tell you straight up, just because it was written and proposed does not mean it was accepted and practiced as such. It would be years before Americans actually fully grasped the concept of such a statement. Please refer to the civil unrest in the 50's and 60's, and the consequent Civil Rights Movement and such during Martin Luther King Jr's era.

If you disagree, then point out where in the U.S. Constituion that right is specified.

But if he is re-elected, I'm sure he'll finish "evolving" right away and will either demand that the House and Senate send him a Bill to sign relating to new gun/ammo regulations to sign into law, or issue new executive orders to implement new gun/ammo regulations and start dismantling the second amendment. Once re-elected, he'll want to satisfy his herd of sheep that always demands that guns/ammo be taken out of the hands of ordinary law abiding citizens. He is also silent on Fast and Furious in which his Attorney Generaal got caught smuggling arms into Mexico.

Wow... How can people be so dumb? Strict gun laws will not protect you.. Even if the gov took ALL guns from citizens you could still be able to get them illegally from Mexico or guns that are stolen from police.. I remember a story on the news not too long ago were a guy stole a ar15 and other guns out of an unmarked car.. Wasn't caught I also remember a YouTube video of an old guy shooting two armed robbers at an Internet cafe.. They were later caught.. Criminals will have weapons no matter what.. The question is do you want a trained civilian (maybe ex cop/military) by your side that is armed too? I will defend my life no matter what the law is.. Rather be caught with it than without it..
