Cherry Street youth sports park hits road bumps
The Opelousas City Council has voted not to sell a portion of the Cherry Street property to a home developer, which brings into question where it can get the money to move forward with a proposed youth sports park on the land.

They need not spend any money in this area. it is surrounded on all 4 sides by slums. what they have done to cherry street around that property should be a crime. those "mini projects" coupled with that nasty trailer park is something you would expect to see in a 3rd world country(maybe I am giving them too much credit). trash thrown around everywhere. babies running back and forth across the street with no supervision. I just dont see how people can live like that.
