Midway water project and information will be addressed November 18, 2009, 6p.m. St. Landry Parish Government Counsil, rm. 132. It is my understanding per Mr. Hurlin Dupree, that the project is moving forward. Mr. Roy Harrington, resident of midway, plans to make all meetings and convey updates to the community members and myself.I shall continue to monitor progress independently also, and I know that this project, although seemingly delayed, will proceed. Thanks, Cheryl Goudeau Buxton

Say you people of Midway, have you all figured out yet that the meeting coming up wont change a thing. If the elected officials, Mr. Dupree and Mr Bushell, never lifted a finger to help Midway people, and thats their job, any of yall got brain cells to figure out why? And futher more Ms. West said the rats ate the paper work up .....big rats attorney! Big rats, they got paper but not the kind most can chew holes in. Don Menard, whatcha doing bout this sir. Thats right, yall better find out who is the head of this program...Good luck folks, ha ha ha ha.....no water for yall...shoulda had a preacher on ya side not against ya!.........

It is so sad, but at least we know why for twelve years we have been the south end of the donkey headed north. 1999 block grant,$225,000.00 to midway, then another $150,000.00 for the same water project. Same handful on the water system, selective preference in full Louisiana style politics at its best. No records, no books or any accounting, just checks deposited into the bank. It will take more than clean water to clean up this dirty mess. The water used was enough to launder $375,000.00 so far without a hitch, must be the tip of a huge iceburg, ah, offshore account. Thanks, for letting the folks down again, fearless leaders. At least throw some mud in our faces, after all you force everyone to drink it and bathe in it! 12 years ago we all would have had the water system, we just don't count. The caring attorney at the meeting told the whole room who did count..........remember Andrea?

Glad you really care. Pray you never have to be treated less than a human. Cows and Horses north of Melville drink from the Palmetto Water System. It is clean, without road kill smell. We get sick from our water. The animals down that Bayou road are treated like royalty. Its a fact. Bad water, hope you never are with it! Guess your Government officials care about your health and well being, ours don't. The people of Midway will continue to try every avenue. We will go forward until we are treated with dignity and respect. A recall is underway. I was upset that I was Number 99 and not number 1 on the list. They will listen....when its too late. We are not taken seriously..........

Umm, a little dramatic??? i have never gotton sick from well water, it's just a little extra iron. the worst thing that ever happened to me was my clothes getting ruined from hard water stains. YES, WE DO NEED TOWN WATER and eventually, we will get it, but if your water smalls like road then you need to check your pipes. and also, go buy yourself a nice, clean, healthy bottled water and TAKE A CHILL PILL!!!!!!!!

THE BIRD....moving is out of the question. And some have moved out and sold due to this situation. I have not and will not give up the cause. Will post a meeting for community members who have signed up for water. For those individuals who are not in favor of this project, I publicly request that you do not attend this function. I, and the community members make this request politely and expect that those in non favor of clean water to be of service as they deem necessary, but elsewhere. Prior to the scheduled February meeting for St.Landry Parish Government Counsil meeting, we must take a course of action that will ensure truthful updates on funding, and/or all plans for this community's quest for a water system project. We now have a group of individuals that will assist us for they agree, our cause is valid. All persons who have signed up for water, you will be contacted for this meeting: time, date, and place. I can be contacted via e-mail, facebook, or cell phone. Wishing everyone a blessed day. Everyone's cooperation and loyalty to this water project is humbly appreciated. It is a shameful circumstance that we must accept that we are as a group not in "favor" by some individuals. We must look ahead with optimism for we are power in number. Our voices are being heard! Take care, see everyone soon. Cheryl

Thanks Bird. We have taken action as a group. We are raising money as a group. We have done a documentary. Its a sad but true situation. Maybe nothing will change at all. But, as a group, and I myself feel that community good can come from this situation. We are taking action as a group and until this community is not discriminated against we shall move with the program. I predict that the outcome will be fair, and with the peoples interests and needs fulfilled.Myself, and this group realize a few obstacles have to be overcome, we know the nature of the problems that have prevented this project's progress in the past. We do have avenues and direction and a course of action to take. Denying us consideration has only fueled the peoples ambition to succeed. It would be humorous, this whole situation, but it is a sad reality of neglect of these people and their community.Lets pray there is never a tragedy again like the Haitan disaster. I was contacted by a group to send or ship water. It would have been a mockery to do so. We cannot give that which we do not have ourselves to give. Your humor is appreciated, at least you do care enough to comment.
