When we are fighting for nut cases to own military style weapons (rather than having them join the military); yes we are exchanging this amendment right for the freedom of going to the mall, school, sporting and other entertainment events with a certain peace of mind.

What is happening to us as a nation?

What ever happened to your rights end where mine begin?

Do we even care about the future anymore?

First, we need to address you.

What is wrong with you?

Have you no manners or respect for others?

Why would you want " nutcases" To join the military? Nutcases belong in nut houses.
That is the weakest argument I've ever heard.
It's all about "me" with you people. Your fears, your agenda. Not the nations'.
If your that scared to go a public event, don't go.
People like you are so far to the left you will never take away others' "rights".

Use some common sense.

There are alot of posts here that say the are good citizens and careful gun owners. If THEY want to shoot military style weapons, then let THEM join the military.

Your comments here makes me wonder if maybe you are one of the nutcases.

Use to be that you could leave your home unlocked day/night (home or not at home) and didn't have a worry in the world. Today, you have to lock your home even when you are at home. I agree with guns for hunting and protecting; but if you are NOT in the military (mass shootings); you should NOT own a military style weapon.

Seems to me all our "Rights" have limited our "Freedoms"; very fair statement!

Your argument gets weaker and weaker. People have had to lock lock their homes, especially in rural America, for three decades now.
Do you think restricting gun ownership will deter someone from entering your home and killing you with a knife.
When an assailant enters your home do you want to do battle with him with a knife or sword? I think not. There lies the hypocrisy with the left. You are not smart enough to see the larger picture of gun control and it's ultimate goal.
Societal issues need to be addressed. Causal relationships and their cures.
Media hype always influences the weak.
And then there are those who use the media as a sounding board for their agendas.
Calling me a nutcase only proves how weak you are. After all you brought the subject up.
Not much for backing up your opinions, are ya?

Locks on doors being used started about the time assault weapons went on sale (few decades now). You proved my point.

If someone is there to KILL you, you will not have advance warning to unlock your gun and unlock your bullets then load the assault weapon. Keep in mind, no one is speaking about hunting/protection guns. You need to look up the 2nd Amendment if you are to speak intelligently about it.

If someone is there to rob you, chances are they will NOT shoot you unless you pull out a knife or gun (fair fight then).

When the 2nd Amendment was written, no automatic weapons, tanks, drones, ground to air missles...were in play yet. So the 2nd Amendment was a 'POINT IN TIME" amendment. Needs updating. If the Gov't, as you would say, wants to kill Americans, they have the MOST POWERFUL stuff. Will win hands down.

We should NOT used the 2nd Amendment to justify a few responsible gun owners want for assault weapons (who will seldom use the assault weapons) so the criminal/mental citizens can own/use them on Decent Americans who want to go to school, mall, theatre... in peace.

Again, we are allowing the exaggerated "right" to take away from our "freedoms".

You two seem more like the ones that are stuck in the "Repub Bubble". Good sound ideas don't get in; only stupid gets out. Bobby Jindal says, "stop being the stupid party".

Regarding gun control, earlier post said that the criminals get the guns illegally. ALL guns are legal at some point!

The ones that claim to be responsible gun owners have their guns locked up and seldom used; probably cleaned more often than used. You know, the Conn. shooter's mother considered herself a responsible gun owner. Guns locked up tight; down the hall from the shooter. With the economy issues, W's mess, she needed protection from the poor unemployed; should have been more worried about her mentally ill son in the basement down the hall from her guns and bullets. Had she lived, she would have been the first in line to turn in whatever guns were still in the house; I have NO DOUBT.

Unlike you, I have a brain and use it on a regular basis. Don't have to have the Koch Bros. nor NRA (looking for higher profits) tell me how to think. More and More people think the way I do.

Think about it!

No on is asking you to give up your hunting/protection guns; rather the military style weapons used for mass shootings/killings (you know, WAR).

I just cannot imagine anyone wanting to use this style weapon on a human being/animal in a non war situation. Can you imagine what a little child could do with this style weapon if he/she got their hands on it? Even if they would consider it non intentional; wouldn't beabe to live with themselves; scared for life!

If the Gov't (taxpayers) turn on the citizens of America, the military will win hands down. If we are invaded, the military will put together a citizens' army and give you guns with some training. If you want to shoot this style of weapon, join the military reserves and become a weekend soldier. Are you afraid you would have to use them in its intended situation?

Again, all those exaggerating the 2nd Amendment to make it fit (beginning with the NRA for profits) are turning the US into a police state (military at every corner). Is this what you want?

so what u gonna cry about when assault weapons are banned and someone goes into a school with a hand gun and kills ppl, which has happened. pistols kill more ppl than these evil assault rifles.i give up my 2nd amendment rights when you give up your 1st amendment rights.if you think getting rid of these guns will make your life so much safer and you will be able to leave your doors unlocked then i have a unicorn and some rainbow stew for you. the rise in crime was not the start of ar 15 being sold it was the rampart drug usage in this country and guess what drugs are illegal and guess what also they are still everywhere. keep believing that banning these guns will make this country so peaceful and no one will ever be murdered again.

Your opinion.
Racist comments will always be racist comments.

Most people don't have a problem being racist, they just don't want to be called racist; right?
