I don't know Jindal on a personal level. Not looking to be friends.

KLFY thought that the Treasurer should explain, and they gave him an opportunity to do so. If you would have watched the news, you would have learned that Jindal's budget maybe built on a sink hole. If they don't sell the Gov't bldgs. for the amount they want (maybe inflated amount) and the LSU Medical leases to the private industry are NOT all signed, there would be further budget cuts in the middle of the year (kinda how W. Bush ran the country's economy into the ground). If this comes to pass, who will be left with the HUGE tax bill, you guessed it, YOU and ME!

Keep in mind, if they changed to sales tax (rather than income tax), the poor and middle class will be HIT HARD!(Keep in mind, the rich (who got their millions/billions off the backs of underpaid hard working Americans) have plenty of money in the banks (here and abroad) to pay add'l sales tax, can you? What will you have to give up? If more is paid in taxes, less will be available for product/services purchases; will hit small businesses HARD. Is this the plan?

Another thing, the Repub judge reversed himself on Teacher Tenure in addition to the voucher program (payment coming from public school money). It would be different if the children receiving the vouchers were geniuses being sent to top learning facilities (that would advance the USA and should be Federally funded); that is NOT THE CASE. Taking money from Public schools leaves too many kids behind, including the poor geniuses!

A budget should be built on Facts NOT fiction!

You cannot handle how the rest of the country is laughing at LA. Bobby Jindal ruined his political chances when he ran around the country supporting Mitt "GREED LORD" Romney and then said, "GOP needs to stop being the STUPID party" shortly after the election.

If you would be smart, you would come out against taking public school money and giving it to Private "FOR PROFIT" school systems with NO ACCOUNTABILITY. By not doing so, you are saying you are OK with taking money away from your kids'(grandkids) public education, are you? When the voucher program first came out, most of you people thought your kids would be going to private schools, didn't you? Now that you are smelling the coffee, you see this is not the case and WILL NEVER be the case. Again, how is giving public school money to FOR PROFIT going to give your kids a better education?

Meaningful/accountable/legal changes need to take place within the public school system to advance learning; not giving more money to the 1%.

No one gives money to the so called 1%. They just take it all away from them to give to illegal aliens, lazy blacks, and foreign countries like Palestine. Perhaps you need a drone up your butt! If Bobby Jindal were president, this country would not be in the toilet it is in.

Who is they?

Repubs and Dems (alike) in Congress are in FAVOR of giving money to foreign countries (HAVE BEEN GOING ON FOR A HELL OF A LONG TIME). Please get your facts STRAIGHT before you throw stones!

The theory behind helping these smaller counties is that "if we don't our enemies will and they will get STRONGER and pose a BIGGER threat to the US".

What I don't agree with and W. Bush did, is INVADE a country for oil. All those deaths and all that WASTED tax money and we end up with the bill and NO OIL. Iran will end up with the oil and weapons we left behind and use them against the US just like the Afghans did.

The path that Bobby Jindal is taking now is NOT new. It is the path Ronald Reagan put forth and it has NEVER been successful for the poor working and Middle Class. FACT! Just look at the POVERTY SINK HOLE. It has grown to almost 50% of the US. You may wake up one morning and find yourself in there. We need the money the 1% is hiding in foreign banks to stimulate the economy. Keep in mind, they DID NOT work for it, the poor and middle class did.

What about the loopholes and subsidies for the profitable corporations? Shouldn't that money go to the tax bill and research?

The takers (47%) that Mitt Romney talked about are some cheaters, but mostly the working poor (not paid a fair wage with benefits, but pay FICA taxes; which Mitt Romney did not pay on his earned income "millions" from his EQUITY business and paid no more than 15% income tax), disabled veterans (men without children cannot be on welfare), unmarried women with children and the senior citizens. I bet no one noticed that he NEVER broke the 47% down.

Not one of you can explain how making the poor and middle class pay more in sales tax will stimulate the LA economy. That will cause fewer products and services to be sold. More and more small businesses will go under. Cars and new homes will cost more. Is that what you want?

Not one of you can explain how turning the school system over to FOR PROFIT will give your kids a better education. Where do you think the teachers will come from in these For Profit schools? Don't you think that with For Profit in place, teachers pay and benefits will go down? Only the bad teachers will accept these terms and where will you be then? Why not work within the current system and make it better? What is their REAL plan?

Why if Jindal's budget is so rock solid, they went after the Treasurer (like jealous teenage girls) instead of answering his concerns. Don't you want them to answer his concerns? I do!

Jindal wants to turn LA into Texas, Rich/Poor. What Texas did not count on is by creating so many low wage jobs, they attracted illegal immigrants that had American babies who will, in the NOT so distant future, make up the MAJORITY in Texas. Times are a changing (just like in California).

Moron, I KNOW POTUS is the 1%, he knows he is the 1%(said it often during his campaign), but get this, HE WANTED TO RAISE TAXES ON HIMSELF (raise tax rate on those earning more that $250,000/yr)! Same for the other Dems you mentioned. Romney and most of the other Greedy 1% didn't want to raise rate! They would rather make you pay the HUGE tax bill caused by W.'s Administration! The 1% made most of the money during that time and after, shouldn't they pay the tax bill?

Keep in mind, there is almost 50% of the US population in poverty (both Repubs and Dems). When I speak of the Repubs, I am speaking of the GREEDY Repubs in Congress who will NOT look out for the majority but rather the 1% who donate to their campaigns (keeps them in jobs where they make more money than the private sector with benefits and a retirement) and when they finally leave office become lobbyists.

You people don't seem to get it. Worker productivity has gone way up, but wages and benefits did NOT keep up. How do you think the economy will be stimulated if the 99% pays more taxes rather than products/services? How will small businesses survive this (this is what POTUS has been saying)?

You don't seem to have an issue with Repubs screwing with the vote. What is the old saying "if they will do it with you, they will do it TO YOU"!

Dude, just about EVERYONE in the WORLD blames Bush. Wake up and smell the coffee or at least turn off Fox News and read REAL newspapers!

Are you really too stupid to realize that Bush CUT the tax revenue by giving the 1% a HUGE tax break and then gave them HUGE WAR CONTRACTS (pipe elbow marked up over 5000%) and Sr. Rx program? If they made all the money; they should pay (%) their fair share!!!

We are now paying DEARLY for that loser of a President!

Does it hurt to be that stupid? I would imagine it would because you sound like you are in extreme pain.

There are more people out there that agree with me than you. That is what you are MOST afraid of; being wrong!

It is OK to be wrong if it means you do the RIGHT thing end the end.

You act like you are so rich. What would happen if Obamacares did not exist and you lost your health insurance? How long before you would be filing for bankruptcy?

There is nothing out there indicating that the changes Jindal wants to make will be good for the state and alot of data that says it will bring the state further down (30 years worth of data - and the proof is the poverty line at about 50% of US population). They are playing with the budget and keeping it close to their vest, WHY?????

I often hear people justify owning military style weapons by saying that Hitler took the guns first. Once again, if the Gov't (taxpayers) wanted to take over the country, they would. The military has bigger better stuff. We are living in a totally different time.

I am NOT jealous of the 1%, but rather afraid of what they are willing to do to the rest of us nd the country in order to get more money and control. You should be too!

Thought you might be interested in this!

"The president wants Americans to feel the pain of the arbitrary across-the-board budget cuts from sequestration, but to cut off promised education assistance for our service members when there are other lower priority spending programs to draw from is an injustice," Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., top Republican on the Senate Armed Services Committee, said in a statement.

He and Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan of North Carolina introduced an amendment Wednesday to a stopgap budget bill that would restore the program. Inhofe told Fox News he has additional Democratic support lined up, and warned that dropping the program not only hurts service members -- it could hurt the military as a whole.

When was the last time you paid for something in advance and got superior product/service.

That is the "bum deal" that best describes Jindal's budget.

Give the tax breaks/exemptions to big corporations up front and they will create good jobs w/benefits.

Sound familiar? It should, that was the main topic in Ronald Reagan's campaign. Didn't happen then (nearly half the country at or beneath the poverty line now).

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on YOU, Jindal!!!

You would think that these HUGE Corporations could better wait for State Tax credits (after they fulfill their end of the deal) than the average LA worker, wouldn't you????

Stop and think for a moment.

Seems to me the direction Jindal is leading education would mean sometime in the near future it would be controlled by "For Profit" and the citizens of LA would be forced to pay out of their own pockets for elem. and secondary schooling for their kids (in addition to college).

I don't think that healthcare and education should be about extreme profits.

What about you?
