Blame States For Not Expanding Medicaid, Obama Administration Will Tell Poor Residents

More than 20 states are opting out of the Medicaid expansion because of opposition from GOP governors such as Rick Perry of Texas and Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, or because majority-Republican legislatures blocked expansion plans supported by Republican governors such as Rick Snyder of Michigan and Democratic governors including Missouri's Jay Nixon.

Under the Obamacare law, the federal government will pay the full cost of covering newly eligible people on Medicaid from 2014 to 2016, then will gradually reduce its share of the funding until it reaches 90 percent in 2022 and years following. The federal government currently pays an average of 57 percent of states' Medicaid expenses.

The health insurance exchanges are online marketplaces where people who don't get health benefits at work can compare health plan benefits and costs, and learn whether they qualify for Medicaid or tax credits for private insurance. The federal government will run the exchanges in 34 states, while 16 states and the District of Columbia will manage their own exchanges.

Everyone except the GOP in Congress (and the insurance industry and Corporate healthcare) see that Obamacare will be successful.

Why is that?

Could it be that things will now turn around when it comes to benefits and premiums? More affordable to all? Isn't that what the GOP has been saying they wanted for years?

They just HATE the cap (20% on Admin.). It put a HUGE HOLE in their bonuses.

Why do you suppose healthcare is more affordable in other industrialized countries? Socialized medicine based on volume? You know "free enterprise based on supply and demand"! Isn't that what the GOP is always campaigning on? Obamacares subsidies help it get started just like with the oil; shouldn't the oil subsidies stop now? Why aren't the GOP in Congress screaming/voting to stop those?

I really don't understand how an employer with 50+ employees CANNOT afford to provide health insurance. Ronald Reagan's plan saw ALL EMPLOYERS covering their employees.

Are you willing to give up your new benefits now? What if things change for you? It CAN happen. Obamacares is a SAFETY NET!

If we want Congress to be more productive (looking out for the 99%, we need to get rid of K Street now. Lobbyists are about PROFITS, not compassion.

CLEAN OUT CONGRESS!!!

Obamacare Speech By President To Highlight Benefits For Health Insurance Consumers

My opinion:
The next step is to shut down the insurance program for Gov't (taxpayer employees) and allow Gov't employees to buy their own insurance policies (same as the rest of us).

Then and only then will Congress act on behalf of the American people rather than themselves and corporate America! At that point we would be in the same boat!

We have to best healthcare in the world, but it will not matter if only a few can afford it! Taxpayers and insurance consumers should not be paying HUGE premiums, deductibles and out of pocket expenses and have little to no medical bills paid. JUST MAKES NO SENSE!

Healthcare Costs Issue

With so many people complaining about the cost of healthcare and insurance premiums, how long before a lot more people would be without coverage.

Obamacare is a safety net.

More and more people are seeing the success.

Again, Ronald Reagan promised the American people that ALL would be covered by their employer (along with their retirement). Instead, more and more lost their coverage. More and more businesses were dropping coverage in favor of higher profits (were offering the money to young people to opt out). Older people would have been replaced by younger people for the cheaper salary and NO health insurance costs.

EVER thought about that?

Reminder: COBRA, continuation of your health insurance after losing a job, was put in place in the 1980's. Obamacare goes so much further!

When people who handle your raw food out in the fields, cooked food in restaurants and stocks shelves at your retailers can't afford regular healthcare/vaccinations, how safe from illness/disease do you really feel?

Think about the intestinal virus that goes around the workplace; it maybe a discomfort to some, but deadly to others. The best thing would be for the first person to just stay home, but doesn't.

It just makes common sense for all to have affordable healthcare and use good judgment; so we all live a healthier life!

God agrees!

So why is the GOP and 1% so against this? It makes me wonder what bible they are reading (seems like there are more 'greed is good' passages than 'doing God's work').

Just have loads of compassion for most people, not you though.

I have pity for you. Get help! It is not healthy to be so negative and greedy! That only makes you 'unhappy'! Yes, it shows!

Mike Lee Admits There Will Be No Government Shutdown Over Obamacare (VIDEO)

Why are the GOP in Congress still going after Obamacares instead of CREATING GOOD JOBS W/BENEFITS? This will make healthcare affordable to most and also secure Medicare and SS. Isn't that what they want to happen?

Most people, whether they admit to it, DO NOT want the law repealed. They like the security it gives to average Americans. It is about time too!

WHY don't they reduce interest rate on Students Loans?

GOOD Questions! Where are the answers?

You have to be most ridiculous socialist I've ever had the misfortune to come across. If you pull your nose out of the Muslim in chiefs assular area long enough for your brain to get oxygen you might learn a thing or two. I don't know about other people but it makes me very unhappy to support all the freeloading socialists out there. Like any smart, freedom loving American, I don't want your commie ideals shoved down my throat! The difference is: I, don't give a good s#it what you do with YOUR money! Just keep your grasping paws off of mine! It's not about greed you, fool! It's about freedom of choice!

Is this Hitler or Satan?

Can't tell for sure.

At NO POINT did I say give to people who can work! Looking for a living wage w/benefits (FAIR treatment). The American way. God's way!

You don't seem to have a problem giving welfare to the rich (Congress, K Street, Corporate Execs and Wall Street). They are laughing at uninformed people like you ALL THE WAY to the bank.

It is like the head of Faux News when he hired Sarah Palin. He thought she was HOT, but stupid. All he cared about was the ratings which led to more MONEY! Noticed how she didn't have anything to say about him calling her 'HOT', but went after the security guy. IT IS ALL ABOUT MONEY! Like selling your soul to Satan.

Don't you realize that you are NOT using your brain? Turn off Faux News and get with the REAL world. Make an informed comment!

We are talking about basic healthcare here, not luxury material items!

Where is your compassion?

So many on this forum are spewing about having compassion, but all they really want is something for nothing. Our healthcare system certainly needs an overhaul, but more than anything, it's our Medical Insurance system that needs new/better guidelines. Obamacare is just a socialist agenda and you all know it. That is, those of you who actually can read and discern. This is a huge mistake. I work for a living, have a pre-existing condition. O-care is already a law, and due to the already existing regulations I had to wait almost 3 months to find out if I had recurring cancer! I was told by my physician, my specialist and a nurse that the new Healthcare Act guidelines were preventing my tests from being performed quickly. I had to go through a line of BS before I could get this taken care of. The left is using things like "women's rights" and abortion to further their agenda and take over our lives. Do you really want community organizers, who are already being put in place, to have your private information? Things like your social security number and date of birth and you health information will be handled by local people who will be responsible for keeping your "private" information PRIVATE. Considering all the gossiping and sniping that goes on in this area, I would not want anyone and everyone sharing my information. And you can claim that Privacy Laws protect us. But in the end, we all know that will fly out the door when someone gets PO'd at someone else. The Healthcare Act is just another way to enslave people. Do we really want to be under the authority of government to this extent? Slavery was abolished, yet here we are agreeing to become slaves to our own governmen, again!

Since you think you know so much about the bible, let's talk about the Pharisees. These folks took God's commandments, all 10 of them, and turned them into more than 600! Now let's take a look at the President's health care rules and regulations.
"the employer mandate, the requirement that businesses with 50 or more full-time equivalent employees provide health insurance or pay penalties...that was a three-and-a-half page provision that got turned into 144-page regulation with 44 definitions"
How is this helpful? How is this Godly? If you claim that this is, in any way, right or righteous, you're a liar. And you've got scales on your eyes, your ears are closed to the truth and you have been deceived!
And please, for the love of all that is Holy, tell me how Godly is it to force Christians to support abortion, per the AHC law? You go right ahead a support a baby-killing mandate so that you can have free healthcare. This is no "FREE" ride for anyone. It will be paid for by the working "few" and the rest can be paid for in dead babies.

Where are the much touted "insurance exchanges" that Pres. O. promised us?
Also, you keep saying "read how Obamacare is already lowering costs". You do realize that the papers and news outlets lie, right? They will say anything to kiss his arse.
Now we have the Prez traveling the country, spending more of my money, in the "Support your rock star prez's agenda. Even if it means we will no longer have a country to support" national tour.
Obamacare will result in 7 million Americans being dropped from their employers' health plans and forced into new health exchanges set up by the law.

While it's true more Americans will have health insurance under Obamacare, that will lead to greater demands on the health care system and therein lies another problem.

Still, even after all 20,000 pages of regulations are implemented - not all Americans will be insured.

One of the regulations that makes me nervous is the one that, whenever a patient is hospitalized or even just visits the ER, we're forced to sign an agreement that says that our medical records will automatically be shared, nationwide, with other medical facilities. And this will be accomplished electronically! Yeah, I feel secure and safe, NOT! Actually, this is already being done, per O-care. Bullies, the whole lot of them!

Fat people Alert!
As an incentive to save employers money, the Affordable Care Act says that employers now have the increased option to penalize employees who are overweight or obese. Monetary penalties were increased to as much as 30%
of health care premiums. Prior penalties were capped at 20%.
But what if you have an illness that prevents you from excersizing? Or what if your metabolism is compromised and therefore you're unable to control weight loss/gain? No problem, you pay the penalty anyway! There he goes again, bullying the tax payers into submitting to an unconstitutional health care program. Oh, yes, this is just what God had in mind when He instructed us to be compassionate to mankind.

First, if you had a medical condition, you would be treated for that and NOT penalized.

Second, if you are overweight because you EAT too much and DON'T exercise, then you would be penalized.

Think about it, if you don't take care of yourself, why should other peoples' premiums keep going up to take care of your HUGE medical bills?

This is just plain common sense.

By the way, God gave us fresh fruits, vegetables, clean air and water. Corporations gave us processed sugary fat filled food. These same corporations don't want to pay living wages with benefits.

You do the math.
