Everyone is on this assault rifle kick its a freaking gun. If your going to limit one style whats the difference from all guns period. People let's be responsible for our action and quit pass in the buck on others. Jail time, mental health reform and I do not know maybe common scene. Does slot machine make you gamble no your the one to push the button. Think people think

To ensure public safety, strict gun laws should be in place. It has been proven that strict gun laws bring down crime (use of guns in crimes).
Again, good responsible citizens that can be held accountable for the guns (use) would not have difficulty in obtaining licenses (guns). Do with them what you want (legal that is).
It just seems to me that a law abiding responsible person would be in favor of this.
yea just look at chicago's crime rate and see how gun control worked there lol

So your solution to the problem is: Make it easy for the mentally ill and hot headed drug dealers to get whatever (and as many as they want) guns?

The US should just man up and hire all these people coming back from war to work guarding, well, every place?

Really?

Are you really comparing slot machines to assault weapons in the hands of mental/criminal minds?

Really?

No I am not comparing gun to slot machines . I am saying people should be responsible for their actions and not everyone else. My father is an ex police officer and he him self will tell you its people kill people not guns. What about all the stabbings that take place so should none of us have knives???

People use GUNS to KILL people, FACT! To kill is the main purpose of guns.

Again, we are speaking of assault (multi ammo round) guns. You can own hunting and protection weapons after complete background/mental check.

If the shooters would have had knives, chances are fewer people would have been killed.

Banning assault weapons will NOT stop all murders; just hoping it will cut down on the number of people killed per situation.

What is it y'all calling an assault rifles? The whole purpose is for 1. Its required a background check 2. Keep all guns out of your childres reach 3. Cut down on illegal gun buying 4. The responsible person should have whatever gun they want. My husband has a collection of guns and none of our children have possession of them. Why because we are responsible parent's and gun owners. People are killed everyday by vehicles and yes we are required to have a driver's license but I have read in your newspapers of people who do not and drink hit and kill someone or even a whole family so what makes a car different from a gun?

After the shooting (accidental or otherwise), they ALL say that the guns were in a safe/locked place and the kids knew better. Kids are curious and, like adults, like to show off the weapons. Other kids use them to get even (fully intending to off themselves or murder by cop). NOTHING is 100%.

Don't you think the shooters' parents thought they were "good parents" and other than the guns probably were.

Think about it! Someone's life depends on it.

Wr personally have a gun safe and my husband is the only person with the code. Let me ask you this regarding the school shooting his mother was trying to have my legal committed to a facility. Ok please answer this why would you take him to a shooting range and teach him how to shot a rifle? So yes to me the parent was just as responsible for his auction. And these people had money to get him health care. So yes I do hold them very responsible for all those lives lost. If I had hurt someone wouldn't I be held responsible not my husband or children

WHY CANT WE WORK TOGETHER ON A DECISION INSTEAD OF ALWAYS AGAINST ONE ANOTHER. EVERYONE HAS THEIR WAY OF LOOKING AT THINGS BUT THE ONE THING WE ALL WANT IS SAFETY. ITS A SHAME THAT THE UNITED STATES HAS TAKEN AWAY FAMILY VALUES. I DO BELIEVE THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS WE DO NEED TO CHANGE JUST BESIDES WHO SHOULD BE ABLE TO BUY GUNS OF ALL TYPES. LIKE PRAYER BACK IN SCHOOLS, FAMILY VALUES AND NEIGHBORLY LOVE AND RESPECT. WHEN I WENT TO SCHOOL A GUN WAS THE LAST THINNG I THOUGHT TO BRING TO SCHOOL FOR ONE I WOULD HAVE BE SCARED OF THE ASS BOP FROM MY TEAHER AND SECOND THE OTHER ONE I WOULD GET WHEN I GOT HOME. THE WORLD IS CHANGING AND NOT FOR THE BETTER. I SO UNDERSTAND THE WHOLE CONCERN FOR OUR CHILDREN TO BE SAFE AT SCHOOL BUT WE NEED TO DIG DEEPER INTO THE ISSUE AND NOT SAY OH NO ONE CAN HAVE A GUN WHEN THE ONE DOING THE HARM WILL FIND ONE NO MATTER WHAT

look the stats up pistols kill way more than rifles do so then what would the ban accomplish. government just wants a ban to make it look like they care and making it safer for everyone when in fact the last gun ban accomplished nothing and they will admit it except for all the anti-gun politicians

guessing you think we live in a land where drug dealers follow the law and walk in a gun store and legally purchase a gun, wow amazing use your common sense cause they don't. they steal to get theirs so nothing that passes will help that out, so why not enforce the laws we have and prosecute them to the max. also what good would a gun ban do when our own government gave lots of weapons to drug cartels in Mexico that will do more damage than what mine will ever do.

Don't drug dealers kill other drug dealers? Wouldn't this be a service?

Was not a drug dealer that killed in Colorado, Arizona and New York; rather mentally ill people.

How are guns sent to Mexico going to impact your assault weapon ownership?

Stop exaggerating.

Would you feel the same if it was one of your kids that was killed?

It's best up by a father how yes lost his daughter to the Colorado's 1999 high school killing he does not blame the gun but the boys with the gun. And as he said since the bible people have killed for what ever reason but when prayer was taken out of schools bullying took over
And the politics with wanting to point the finger at the NRA. It's an escape goat and to make laws only to not have them informed.

No I would hate to loose my child but God has a plan for each and everyone of us and we can not control that.

Assault (high powered military style) weapons should NEVER have been legally sold to the general population. These weapons were designed/manfd. to kill PEOPLE; plain and simple.

Once again, profits are being put ahead of human life. You say you are against abortion, what about senseless murder? Those people in Newtown, and other places, had NO CHANCE against the shooters.

These weapons are used to kill large #'s of people in a short amount of time; little chance to gain control of the situation until too many are killed.

What part of that do you NOT understand?

The NRA is trying to make you beleive that POTUS is after your hunting/protection weapons; simply NOT true! The NRA is after HUGE PROFITS; simple math!

DO YOUR RESEARCH, it may say a life.

no they do not always kill other criminals, Innocent people get killed also and gang members do the same. our government gave guns to criminals in Mexico which then where used to kill Americans and now more are at risk of being shipped back over here and used against other Americans by drug lord and gangs. you need to look up the facts and use some common sense like your name says, these rifles aren't the problem cause very few people are killed every year by them compared to pistol, drunk drivers and other weapons. my child could be killed by anything that someone uses everyday, doesn't mean i will go on a crusade to ban everything that could hurt them.you just keep drinking the kool-aid and believe the government is only looking out for your safety.

This is so out of control. NRA is a group people with guns can support. In northern states you can not order a large coke because of the health risk. So now our government is going to be like another Russia tell us when we can take a crap. Sandy Brook was a horrified insedent but I sure did not run out and shoot someone with my gun. Yes I own several of the guns talking about and they are to protect my family from any idiot who tries to hurt my family.. so go on and let the government take away all your rights by then Texas will have its own laws and I sure will be there living life with my guns

Be real.

It is about safety and accountability.

Again, assaut weapons are about war. Want to shoot one, join the military. Will have the best chance of removing them from criminals if they are NOT 'LEGAL" to own. Abortions and senseless shootings both result in MURDER. By the way, what happened to your first argument that "guns were for hunting and protecting yourselves"? Didn't hold up?

About HUGE size cokes, if you don't take care of yourself, your deductibles/out of pocket expenses should be higher. Why should others' premiums go up because you need more medical treatment? People need to be made accountable for themselves or pay the price!

Now that you know better; do better!
