In-Depth look at increasing prostitution numbers

It is a so-called job that many expect to find only in big cities. However, drive down 19th Street near Avenue Q on any given day and Lubbock police say you can spot prostitution.

I really hope that dna samples are being taken from all the so called Johns when they are arrested for solicitation. There may be a hooker problem in Lubbock but there are also murders of these women that are not being solved.

Lubbock Prostitution is real! I did not know this until I discovered my faithful husband was having an on-going affair with a convicted prostitute. I drove through this 19th street area and around the 22 to 24th Street area between L and Q. Your heart will be broken! This looks like a vision directly out of hell! Women walking the street looking for some man to supply their financial need. They all look so hopeless! The one my husband was seeing was also a crack head. While forginess can be given, the betrayal can never be forgotten. But you know what? I am a survivor!! I have One who lifts me and protects me even when the man who called himself my 'husband' only had evil in his heart.

ya know, the only reason they are at 19th & Q, is cause McDougal land has ousted them from 8th & Q....
i'm actually surprised they haven't set up shop in the wally world parking lot at 4th & Q.
they should all go operate out of mcdougals office.

What is really crazy is that there are prostitutes , drug dealers , homeless people and all kinds of low lifes around lubbock. I laugh every time I see these people against alcohol in lubbock. They say keep our city clean and all of that crap. They are the ones buying the prostitutes and keeping them in business.

Wow! I moved to Lubbock a couple of months ago and I thought this place was completely void of anything of that sort.

I bike through Avenue Q late at night with my boyfriend but haven't really seen anything. But I'm guessing that now since a lot of men know about the police watching the area, it must have completely stopped. Oh well, I hope they found something better to do (the prostitutes AND the cops).

I don't understand why they would move to 19th and Q in the first place.

I drove very slowly around 19th and Q and a girl flagged me over. I rolled down the window and she

Tricked, abused, tormented? I don't think anyone sets out to be caught up in the cycle of addiction and prostitution. Seriously. It usually just takes one hit and neither crack nor prostitution discriminate. Could be your wife, daughter, sister, or even your mother. Well I remember.

It is a scary thing. it almost seems unreal, unless you know. Yes, much bigger problem than anyone would like to admit.

Sounds like that wacko indian "tribal lawyer" guy that always runs for some office but never wins anything. He has been mad at the McDougals ever since they cleaned up that cesspool North Overton neighborhood area. They did a GREAT thing and I hope they go ahead and clean up the filth in east lubbock. As for the hookers, maybe if wives tended to the needs of their husbands better, they could put the hookers out of business....you know...supply and demand and all that stuff.
