Nov 9, 2007 I hope change is in affect and this mayor can pull Niagara Falls out from the bottom of the barrel. Like I said in another post Niagara falls has so much potential its just a matter of getting the right people in office to make the difference.
You don't have to look hard to come up with ideas to make Niagara prosperous. Just look across the border towards the Canadian side. Niagara falls is noted for its majestic falls now capitalize around that and use that as a focal point to allure tourists.
Maybe get some Canadian Investors in on the action and the possibilities of conjoining the two sides could make it very profitable.

It took you folks close to 4 yrs. to think about this. Sounds like dejavue to me!

RE: Fixing the Falls:- Ten' reasons to be hopeful
..... It all depends on the money tourists bring into the region. Probably a lot of expert opinions have already been consulted as to how to attract more, even many more, tourists! How much more luck they will have (oh yeah?) after they spent their honeymoon there, after they viewed the falls, after they dropped a few coins into them if they can get near enough, etc. etc. Maybe a lot of people will believe it! Just get them (read: their money!) there!
..... But for those who want to look at the falls also from the other country: What about the border-crossing problems/troubles? And about the need to have proper identification? And NOT being on one of the "black" lists? And not getting mistaken for a "wrong" person that happens to be black-listed?
Not looking/acting like a potential terrorist? Maybe the (too?) many post 9/11 precautions keep away many potential visitors?

The problem is not too many people are willing to call their local representatives to let them know that they disagree with the Patriot Act which just happen to slime its way through Congress again with an approval for an extension.
God forbid one might come across as being unpatriotic if they even whisper with disapproval.
