I would like to know why nothing was done in Thatcher Park before the gates were closed at sundown Sunday? The grass has not been mowed or trails maintained~what were the employees doing that will now be sent to other "open" parks? Volunteers are there today trying to clean the place up.Who was working? where was the money spent?

Hey, Channel 13, the "station you can trust," How about reporting this:

Today, while State Parks throughout New York are being shuttered, Governor Paterson attended the opening of a new park in Brooklyn. The Brooklyn park was funded in part by the State of New York to the tune of $85 million of taxpayer dollars.

Beginning today, families throughout New York will be unable to enjoy their local parks due to budget cuts, yet Governor Paterson visits Brooklyn to celebrate spending $85 million.

With this state in financial crisis, how can we afford to pay $85 million for a new park when our existing parks are closed due to lack of funding.

So Channel 13, how about reporting the truth? Get your reporters out there, ask some questions, and discover what other shenanigans and tricks this state government has in store for us!!!
