That other driver was probably duece too. What a shame that those two girls died. The lesson to learn is do everything you can to not be on the side of the freeway, especially at night. If you do have an emergency/flat tire/etc and have to pull over, get out of your car and wait away from your car. Trust me, I have a huge scar on my arm that reminds me every day I should have gotten out of my car.

It doesn't seem to be a coincidence that so many of these fatal accidents that happen when someone plows into the back of a disabled vehicle occur within a few hours or minutes of the times that the bars close down. Sometimes it's the driver that is drunk, sometimes it's the car pulled over, and sometimes it's both.

Fact or coincidence that a car has 4 wheels and 4 people were killed?

It's neither a fact or a conincidence. The vehicle has four wheels and two people were killed. But even if your facts had been correct, what would your point have been?

yes, I know there's an extra "n" in coincidence.

People don't realize the long term effects of some drunk driving accidents. This is one of those examples. The obiturary appeared in todays Daily Bulletin.

RANDY LEE SAVAGE
57, of Ontario, California passed away in a local convalescent home October 10, 2009. Born in Los Angeles on March 21, 1952, he spent his entire life in Ontario. A handsome, athletic, musically talented Eagle Scout attending Chaffey High School, Randy was rendered comatose by a drunk driver in April of 1969 at the age of 17. After months in a coma, Randy slowly recovered enough faculties to be released to his family's care at their Bonnie Brae home. Over the years, his father, Harold, his mot her, Madge, and his sister, Brenda assisted him daily with excellent special care, allowing him for many years to ride his 3-wheel bike around his West Ontario neighborhood, where dozens of families still remember his labored but kind greetings and his stunning courage. Randy will be remembered by many for the huge heart he had for helping others despite his severe dis- abilities. A volunteer aide at Hawthorne and Lincoln Elementary Schools, he also enjoyed being a long time member of Ontario Kiwanis . Randy never forgot the friends he made over the years, especially during his years at Hawthorne, Vina Danks, and Chaffey High schools, and the wonderful years in Ontario Boy Scout Troop 301. While unable to play guitar after his accident, he never lost his love for music or forgot the thrill of performing with friends Brad Epperson, Jim Lawrence and others in various rock bands for Chaffey dances. His family thanks everyone in the community-his classmates, his church, his teachers, his doctors, hi s scout leaders, Ontario Kiwanis-for their kindnesses towards him over the years, and thanks all of their neighbors and friends for the support they provided the Savage family as well. Randy is survived by his sister, Brenda G. Knight and nephew, William Randall Knight. A dual memorial service for Harold and his son Randy will be held at Vince's Spaghetti Restaurant in Ontario on Sunday, October 25th, 2009 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

I knew Randy! Ah man, I was never aware that he passed or was even in a home, but I dont live in Cali any longer. Randy was a great guy. I remember being in elementary school at Hawthorne and he was there all the time helping out. We also lived a short distance from him and would see him riding his awesome bike around and we'd wave at him. Randy was a super neat guy and he will be missed. Prayers for the family.

And what is wrong with someone saying the lesson to learn is to try to not be on the side of the freeway late at night? It's a valid and truthful lesson. Many people stop on the freeway for a flat tire or other problem when they still had the ability to slowly drive that last mile or so to an offramp where they could safely get off the freeway. Many lives would be saved. He was only speaking the truth.

i was speaking in terms of my friends.they were not able to get to the side of the road.my friends were struck as soon as they got out the car.i really dont care what you are saying.everbody can not make it to the side of the free way or an off ramp obviously.it was uncontrollabe and remember im speaking in terms if my freeway.so forget the should of could of.becuase they could of done nothing, especially when some1 hits your car into the emergency lane.so how can u learn a lesson from this?the lesson to learn is that its in gods hands.everything is not CONTROLLABLE. U SAID "And what is wrong with someone saying the lesson to learn is to try to not be on the side of the freeway late at night?"WHO CHOOSES TO BE ON THE SIDE OF THE FREE WAY LATE AT NIGHT.WHAT DO U MEAN,TRY NOT TO BE.U MAKE NO SENSE AT ALL.YOU CAN TRY ALL YOU WANT THAT DOESENT MEAN IT WONT HAPPEN.SO OUT OF RESPECT FOR MY FRIENDS,PLEASE DONT TALK ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT.THIS ARTICLE DOES NOT TELL EVERYTHING.
