Man i swear on my life and my dead dad r.i.p, it's just so sad to hear this about Craig Luke and Devyn Berry. And just because i'm there bestfriend but we treat each others like brothers. And i know that was dumb to pump that and aim that if i was there i bet u on my life that would not happened, and i am so sorry about the accident Mr. Holcomb. On the 30th of July at 12 am i heard it from a text and i didn't bbelieve it until i seen it for myself, and i actually shed some tears when i heard. And i am the oldest out of all them so i think its my fault and my cousin Devyn Berry is a good guy even Craig Luke and Lurissa Holcomb. i knew her too, i use to attend to Cajon High School with them but not Lurissa Holcomb.

Craig Luke would not done that trust me that was an accident, and with my cousin Devyn Berry he was just shocked to see something like that. He been through a lot like his older brother dying and its hard to get over things like that. Like when my dad died i didn't know what to do except to get in trouble with the law but i'm a changed man and these two gentlemens is not like that you can talk to all they neighbors but please give them as chance. And once again i am so sorry i'm willing to do what ever it takes to get them out of there, god bless.

I'm keeping Lurissa, Craig, Devyn and their families in my prayers. It's not our place as humans to judge when we ourselves are not perfect. What happened was a horrible tragedy, and the pain, hurt and confusion will likely not ever go away.

If I examine your statement outside of the context of this story, I'd have to agree with you. In today's society of broken families, it's increasingly difficult. For adults.
But remember, this donkey is only 20, has a kid, and has a baby in the oven with somebody else! He CLEARLY is terribly irresponsible. Nobody woman with good judgement wouldn't be able to hold a penny between her knees around him. Face it, your friend may have been a sweet person and a lot of fun to be around, but she sure picked a loser ... and THAT reflects poorly on her judgement.
<quoted text>
Again, she should not have trusted and by the comments I've read here, she in fact DID NOT trust him to be faithful. If you cannot trust somebody at any level, why would you trust them with your life?
<quoted text>
No doubt. But you can try. Again, if you hang out with bad or stupid people ... you're asking for it. Plain and simple. Accept the responsibility.
It's clear you and I have differing opinions. Although, I have counter arguments for everything you've written- what's the point? It's not going to bring Lurissa back. You're not going to change your views, nor I mine. And at the end of the day you are entitled to your own opinions; and I'm perfectly content leaving it at that.
R.I.P Lurissa... we won't ever forget you.

God, you have to be the most stupid person alive. I can't understand any of your post. Maybe you should go back to 4th grade and learn how to write and spell. You obviously have spent your time drinking, smoking and making babies from different daddies. Stay off the web, and spare us from trying to decipher your ebonics..

Rude? Absolutely! Unnecessary? I don't know ...

When IS the best time to be blunt with somebody? When should you offer them a wake up call?

The truth is that this forum is NOT a feel good forum for those who've lost loved ones to bad choices and/or acts of violence. This is a community forum to discuss events in the news, along with tangential issues. There are few rules, almost none.

While I grieve for dead people who I don't even know, I'm saddened much more by the confused lives I read about on this forum. People who are grossly uneducated. People who fail to see that bad choices often lead to bad consequences. People who refuse to accept personal responsibility for anything.

You, while perhaps good intentioned, are not helping either. You are more concerned about how people feel than how they think. If we can reverse the priorities and cause people to think more, then I suspect they'll have fewer reasons to feel bad.

A "wake up call?" Circumstances, made assumptions about someone merely based on their writing skills. Unfortunately, not everyone can be as articulate as Circumstances seem to suggest he/she is. Imperfect writing does not always correlate to: uneducated, stupid, multiple babies, or smoking. For example, there are plenty of highly educated and smart people, who perhaps from another country, do not have a solid grasp on the english language.

You are absolutely correct; this forum has few rules, if any. Therefore, anyone and everyone is free to give their input and/or feelings on any article. However, this is not the place to give each other "wake up calls," especially since we do not know each other personally.

I do not professes to know people based on what they've written on news blog, and make conclusions about who they are, or what kind of person they are. I take the approach of getting to know someone first before I make such conclusions.

I have zero issues with helping people think "better," however, I do not believe attacking a person is the best way to achieve that goal. I am not so blind as to know that feelings play a part in everyone's lives. I believe there is a more tactful way to achieve that goal- assuming that is what Circumstances wanted to achieve. But, I suspect she/he was merely being mean spirited.
---
EVERYONE makes bad decisions, EVERYONE. I refuse to believe whatever bad decision Lurissa may have made- according to you-she deserved to die the way she did. Once again I will reiterate, you and I have differing views on the issue- and at the end of the day it won't bring her back. My intention commenting on this site was to share a few words about what a wonderful person she was and how much she will be missed; but, it is unfortunate that people who did not know her personally can have such negative thoughts about her and how she lived her life-based on one article. At the end of the day my only hope is that she is having a blast in Heaven.

I feel bad for the victim of this senseless crime. However she may/or may not have made a bad decision, only she knows, and we can't monday night quarterback her decision. Anyone of us who attend a party, bar, dance club in the hood put ourselves in danger.

I question her friends. 1. The suspect pumped the shotgun and then fired it through a door. 2. Several people left the location before police arrived. 3. Her stupid boyfriend and his friends immediately lied to police about what happened. 4. They dragged her body to the driveway to fake a crime scene, Maybe getting moved killed her. 5. Where is the weapon? Was is recovered?

She may have been a good person. But her friends were total loser gangbang turds. I hope they all rot in hell and go to jail for a long time.

This is ABSOLUTELY not what I wrote. She did NOT deserve to die because her donkey of a boyfriend was a stupid idiot with a gun. However, when you hang out with stupid idiots your risk of becoming one of their victims goes up.

Really, this is a no brainer. If I ride motorcycles everyday, my chances of dying in a motorcycle accident goes up astronomically. If I have casual sex with strangers or multiple partners, my odds of getting HIV or common STDs goes way up. If I hang out with careless people who have no respect for the lives and well being of others, the risks to me also go up correspondingly. These are consequences of the choices we make.

You are correct in pointing out my bad choice of words in this quote. Sometimes I get angry about so many people who refuse to make a nexus between bad choices and the completely foreseeable consequences of those choices. It's my impression that you are somebody who enables those bad choices by making excuses for them, but I nonetheless agree that in my haste I made a bad choice in picking my words.

It's interesting that you've made such characterization about my personality, based on what I've written on this thread, without even knowing me. I take no offense to what you say- because I, unlike you, know myself- and do not have to justify my thoughts and opinions on a news site.
