I wonder if drinking was involved at 1:00 AM. I wonder if he was wearing a real helmet and not a fake, but supercool Harely dude beanie helmet. I wonder if he was going the speed limit or under it. I wonder if he ever attended an MSF class? I wonder how many people will respond to this by saying "You can't judge, you didn't know him, you weren't there"
He was my best friend and you morons really need to get a grip- You really need to get your heads on straight!

I guess when you say "Whatever the story is he is gone, and when it's your time it's your time", it then absolves anyone of any personal responsibility for whatever actions they took that led up to their demise. No matter what.

My husband is a cop, and he rode with Fernando. Your questions were insulting. I did not insinuate in any way that he wasn't wearing a helmet, I simply stated that would have depended on the laws of CA. Isn't it quite possible that the man could have had a medical emergencey which would have prevented him from stopping?????? Fact is neither one of us knows what happened, except that I lost a man that gave his heart and his smile to everone he came into contact with.

Who said he deserved to die? I have no personal issues. A guy on a Harley at one AM blows an intersection and crashes into a tree. That was the story. Not that he was a war hero or father or great guy. Just a guy on a bike. Does that scenario not raise questions with anyone?
If you can't emotionally handle the comments in a forum like this, maybe you should stick to the comics or sports page.
If any of you read this article, and it was anyone else other than someone you knew, you'd think the same think I thought. Try being honest for a change.
Just to give you some information....like it matters you obviously just run your mouth with no regard to any one.
That sign is failry new and it is NOT lit up at all with lights if he had not been in this neighborhood for a while,(as he has been serving our country and IDIOTS like you) he would not even had noticed it. I had ACCIDENTALLY ran that stop sign days after it was put in. Like I said before it is very new and VERY hard to see at night!!!

There is no excuse for you. Do yourself a favor and stay off of this forum out of respect for the family. You're a moron. Too bad you and the true hero can't trade places.

OK This will piss everyone off, but I don't understand nicc222's comment. If there were no stop sign there before, people drove through that intersection all the time without running off the road. She herself ran the stop sign, but didn't run off the road.People run stop signs all the time without running off the road. There must be more to this story.

Alex, didn't your mom ever tell you that if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything else at all?

You are a sick individual and you obviously didn't know this man, have you nothing better to do then speculate about events that you really know nothing about?

Don't trivialize my family and friends that have voiced their opinions here, or those well wishers that I do not know.

And most importantly...SHUT THE FUCK UP and find something better to do with your time!!!

RIP Fernando!

I am another one of Fernando's cousins. The only 2 who will ever really know what happened are God and Fernando. All I know is that with Fernando gone there is a huge hole in our family and only time will heal the pain.Thank you to all of his friends in the military who shared memories of him.It was truly amazing to know that the Fernando we grew up with was still the same sweet,caring,fun-loving joker and that he had so many people who loved him. I love you and will always remember you with a smile Fernando :)

Dear Alex, I was one of the first to respond to your childish, Bullshit Assumptions, And I am very upset to see that his sister "DID" see what you wrote, but after everyone that has simply found this website has responded to you, I truly hope you have a new outlook on life. Because God knows If you were Half the man he was,(And believe me, you could NEVER be) You would have appoligized and let it go, or Never would have opened your mouth at all.
The sad part is, if you knew him, he could have and would have changed your life for the better. Because thats the kind of man, father and soldier he was!But I guess it was gods decision that you were one of the unworthy ones.

****One more thing!! You owe Veronica One Hell of an Appology for your pathetic assumptions!!
