my wife accused me of writing your post.
why, you ask?
because she has heard me say the same thing too many times.
i'm glad you said it. it needed saying.
by the way, for the topic, how about jordan jeffers?
Yeah, it did need saying. That absolutely aggrevates me to death when these kids who never amounted to anything athletically because they are not willing to put the work, time, effort, and commitment into it whine and complain about how bad the respective schools are all because they simple WERE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. My definition of athlete in that post is this: Those who are willing to work longer and harder than anyone else. From the All-Region players to the guys who put the same work and effort into it without the playing time. I have more respect for the players who don't get to play as much, who put in all the time and effort, than I do for those who talk about how bad a program is because they are jealous of the fact that they were not as good as everyone around them. As far as the topic is concerned. Im a Highlander Graduate and im gonna go with Jordan Jeffers, Wesley Smith, Josh(JD) Terry, Scott Vaden, Derek Boshears, Scotty Brummet, Bill "Do it All" Hall, Joey Sexton, and one unsung really that would have been great had it not been for a tragic accident, Wayne Sullins(RIP). As for OHS I know one personally and that is Big Daniel King, a LB on the 92 State Title Team.

If you want to see lots of ralent go back to94 -95 seniors at both oneida and scott would have loved to have seen them play each other that year. most of those players were nephews or kids of alot of the earlier greats or grew up with them coaching them players like jasen pike, daniel king, daniel smith, jasen jeffers, josh thompson, phil merideth, adam morrow, joey zachary, andy newport mark longmire keith hammock eric griffeth derek lawson scotty brumett, mike litton, few years after true team and football players not taking away form the earlier guys that alot of them learned form like joey sexton bill hall donnie lowe, paul stringer, crowe cant stand when people rate buy those who went to college many others had offers and either couldnt do to injuries or money or other circumstances or just chose not to. but not only did alot of those excell in football but many other sports also some where ayso state champs in soccer and runner up in nationals basketball and several years in state bb tournies. 94 95 year would have been awsome to see oneida and scott combined id lay alot of money that team could have played with any high school team in the eastern half the united states. sorry young guys but besides one or two athletes i havent seen any that really stack up especially on team concept. few others come to mind ron keeton jerry newport marc boyatt derek lewallen patrick byrge and correction scott went 2nd rd and lost close game with the game winning return called back for an uneccesary block. and lost to the ste runnerup and a few years after 95 they didnt get blown out either.:)

Sellers seems to be a good player what ive seen. Dont go by stats they arent what tells a good player or not. Wayne Sullins id have to agree one the best recievers since the 95 grp joey Zach,Adam Morrow,Marc Longmire, and Andy Newport. He ran every route like it was to him and wasnt more show than go kinda players. But the talent in the region hasnt been much lately past 5 6 years so stats are useless. take for instance the grp before all had 30 or more catchs to take one off the team the others stats would have gone up big time so stats are overated look at who there playing how the do against good teams and sellers has been consistent threw all the games that also says goods things about the line let us hope they are a young line so we can have them back next year good teams start there off/def any team oneida or scott that has went to playoffs and on had a good line. Bring Coach PULLIN back :)

Stevie watters was a great player. Troy west, Joe west , chris potter. These were probably three of the toughest guys to play at Scott high. Howard York , mike melhorn, and Patrick burge three other good ones.

Big Darryl Phillips is the hardest hitting and I know alot of people do not remember but he was faster than half backs. No team from SHS ever respected or played with more heart than the 1985 champion team. Want proof of this ask Tony Zachery and Howard York. No one wanted to do the three on three or oakie drill if Darryl was the one they had to run through. His brother is the fastest runner to ever come out of SHS.
