It's said that the Scott County Hospital (Saint Mary's now) is haunted.

The ghost of a hopital psychiatric patient who dove off the end of a bed and killed herself is said to ride the elevators to the nursery to see the newborn babies. Her name is supposedly "Cora". She opens doors and knocks items off of shelves.

There was a report of someone seeing a woman walking into the elevator near the nursery. They yelled for her to hold the elevator doors and when they walked inside of it, no one was there.

Of course, whether you believe in this or not is entirely optional. I can't say that I believe in such things as ghosts. It's just interesting to hear what people have to say about them.

Yes there is a black panther on Brimstone. Whether legend or not, we ride a lot on Brimstone all my family is from there, it jumped out in from of us one night as we were night ridin. There is also one that my grandma told to us when we were little is that on the train tracks there was a woman got hit in the old days, occasionally you can see her walking the tracks at midnight. We tried this at midnight , walk the tracks and it was a warm night b4 Halloween and all of the sudden a burst of cold air hit us in the face...kinda freaky!

Not sure if it is true or not because I have gone up to Smokey Junction looking for it. They say that on rainy nights there is suppose to be a headless woman that walks the train tracks holding her head in a blanket saying over and over again ...my baby, my baby. I didn't see her.

Just a few more 'hauntings' that I found.

Rugby.. The entire town is supposedly haunted by a carriage that drives through the streets.

In the Big South Fork National Park, a newspaper did a story in 1997 on a house that is 'haunted' by the ghost of a land agent who died waiting for his son to arrive.

I had my baby at this hospital and I saw the ghost walking down the hall a couple of times. It was always the back of her walking away from my room. She had an old fashioned night gown on and really long brown hair to her waist. It didn't scare me though. At first I thought a new patient was admitted to the OB, but the nurse told me I was the only one there.

Me and a couple of friends went camping a few years ago at o&w. That place is for sure haunted. I seen a woman walk right in front of our tent. It was dark out but I could see her just like it was daylight. When we got up the next day some of our stuff was scattered here and there. We found several things high up in a tree, some in the river and my leather jacket was hanging on a tree limb. During the night we heard a woman humming and this went on all throughout the night.
