Someone told me at work today there was something about a new dress code at schools. It looks like the thread must have been removed. Were they talking about Oneida High School or where? County wide, all grades, or what?

They was talking Oneida schools but I think it is a good idea for all schools then there won't be as much I'm better than you are attitudes because I'm dressed better . Or as much bullying because some parents can't afford the best of everything.

As a student at Oneida,
Oneida is making this "bullying" problem up out of something so small compared to other schools in bigger cities. People, the most I've heard (directed at myself and others)maybe being gossiped about or maybe a few arguments now and then. I am speaking for the middle school, but also the elementary school. When I was in OES, there was not even a slight bullying problem and I was a weirdo! I dressed different then all the kids and the most that happened is that I had no friends. However, when Melinda Miller (Watters or whatever seeing how many times that lady has been married) became the principal, she was so stupid towards "bullying" and approached it the wrong way. She said everything was bullying.
I was "bullied" I guess you could call it that, since I was PRE-K, BUT it wasn't a problem to me because my mama raised me strong. All of these kids being filled with lies that bullying isn't in the real world and it gets better. It never gets better and the problem will never go away. Stay strong, guys. Bullying NEVER goes away, even when you grow up. Why are parents stuffing their kids with the idea that bullying is so bad and bullying is gonna go away? It doesn't. I am not saying suck it up. I'm saying that we have bigger problems in our schools then a "dress code" over "bullying" that isn't as bad as we make it. Some kids are being spoiled and treated like angels and then if a kid calls them ugly, they go cry to their mom and make a big scene over something cruel, but come on guys, we're stronger than that. Yea, words hurt, kids are stupid. A dress code isn't going to change a kids' attitude. They're just going to find a new reason to pick on the kids. Oneida's bullying probably is so small and I feel sorry for the people who are bullied, but a dress code will fix nothing. Oneida needs to take a new approach and controlling "bullying." As for the kids, the few I have seen get hurt by bullying are either;
Spoiled rotten
or
Crappy parents
Please, Oneida, fix your problem without punishing everyone else!

So should we change the world to make everyone dress the same? Kids, need to learn that everyone is different. All employees, including central office, should have to wear the same outfit as the kids too... We will see how that goes with the staff...
Gotcha

I read yesterday where someone from the school posted the proposed new dress code but did not identify themselves as school personnel. One can only presume-who else new? That confirmed my suspicia that schoolpersonnel were commenting on here anonymously about any and every school issue. I gues that is their right to do so. I was kind of surprised the thread was removed. Let's rehash a little about who would want it done.
1) Ann-there was a lot of criticism about her on here.
2) Connie Thomas-someone became blaming her for the house bought and problems at the school ( I might agree with that too)
3) Nancy Williamson-there was some reference to her.
4) Danny Cross-his name was mentioned but I wouldnt suspect he would be on here what I recall it wasnt that bad.
5) Mark Matthews-somebody said something like duh?
My bet the likely culprit was either Ann or Connie Thomas. I dont believe there were any other names mentioned anybody else recall? You are a public employee you are subject to being talked about. I don't recall anything really scandalous mentioned that would enrage anyone like sexual, moral comments do you? I remember just comments that they were the problem. Wah, Wah Ann and Connie yes I agree you both need to go from the Big O.

1. All shorts, skirts, and dresses should be worn at an appropriate length for a school setting. All items must be within three (3) inches of the tip of the knee cap.
2. Tops must cover the shoulder: this includes but not limited to halter tops, muscle shirts or cutout T-shirts, spaghetti-strap dresses or blouses. All other tops must be able to be tucked into the lower apparel (pants, skirts, etc.).
3. Hats, bandannas, caps, sun-visors or sunglasses are not to be worn in the school building.
4. Any clothing article which advertises alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or clothing with offensive pictures or obscene and/or suggestive language MAY NOT BE WORN.
5. The exposure of undergarments, buttocks, anus rectum, teats, scrotum, vagina,or penis is offensive and distracting in a school environment. Therefore,“sagging” will not be permitted. To prevent such occurrences, pants must be belted at the natural waistline. Clothing must not have holes, rips, tears or cuts three (3) inches above the knee cap.
6. Large, oversized coats that fall below the waistline must be kept in the locker. They are not to be worn in the building.
7. Due to safety concerns and noise disturbance in classes, chains and dangling jewelry will not be permitted on school property.
8. Wearing of pierced materials on any part(s) of the body (other than ears) is prohibited. The wearing of band-aids to hide piercing will not be permitted.
9. The following items are not to be worn at school: Clothing that exposes the abdomen, anus rectum, buttocks, cleavage, naval area/or waist, teats, scrotum, penis, or vagina.
10. Sleepwear or clothing that resembles sleepwear such as lounging pants or other lounging items (included but not limited to house shoes or blankets) is not permitted.
11. Schools may develop special dress days for special occasions at the discretion of the principal.

Way to go Kid! Keep up the studies and you'll go far. Either in a dress code suit or plain close. Develop that mind!

Let me guess, most of the people throwing fits are on welfare or unemployment. People who work have to wear a uniform or conform to some type of dress code. Maybe you should pull your kid out of sports too, you know they have a uniform.
Laziness is the rule of Scott County and selfishness is its mistress. Proof? Your worthless county has had the highest unemployment in the state for nearly 3 years, over 12% since June 2008. Lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy.

Most of you could drive 30 minutes and make a decent living, bu you choose not to. It's too nice to suck off the government teet.

Your number one industry is taking other peoples garbage. How fitting.

I hope you didnt graduate from Oneida. If so, I am embarrassed. The former teachers at Oneida would be embarassed. If you are a teacher, you should surrender your license. A lot of kids that have attended Oneida never had the means to pay for much. What has Oneida become??? I am proud of my education at Oneida. I am ashamed at what Oneida is becoming after reading some of these comments on here.
