When Leif Jeffers took Yokum to court, his own witnesses said he paid them 20 dollars when they signed the witness statement Jeffers wrote. Those were the same people he planned to use as witnesses at trial! Witness tampering, paying off witnesses? The judge crawled Jeffers's rear end, big time.
It's in the transcript word for word. If Jeffers tries to deny it, he will be proved a liar.

Citizens need to read the local paper this week. Two years ago in the Public Defenders Office Leif Jeffers ran against Martha Yokam, and the race was close. Now, Gov. Haslam plans to appoint Mark Blakley to her position when she retires in December. Ask your self these questions: 1) Should a person that has won an election office term for four years, etc., be elgible or allowed to run for that office if they plan to retire before the term is out (2 years left); (That person should be committed to that position, just as they ask for your vote and dedication for that term limit. 2)Should that other person be considered for that position, since the race was very close by the people or all qualified persons in that office be considered with just as much experience; 3) How did Gov. Haslam come to this decision several weeks ago, does he personally know Mr. Blakley. Just seems unjust in someway and not fair. Wonder if he even checked his work record, accuracy of timelines, how well has he performed. It comes down to this: People do not mean nothing anymore, unless they want your vote and once they get it, the whole ballgame changes.
Governor Haslam also appointed our new District Attorney, Lori Phillips-Jones. Her predecessor, Wm. Paul Phillips also took retirement before his term was over. Aren't you trashing your own boss with this post? Scott County is the clear winner! Thank you Governor Haslam! We needed this!

Same situation. And FYI people stated their opinion. No one is trashing anyone, just seems that there would of been a process to evaluate others if they were given the opportunity. Which would be called fair, instead of just not posting the position. And don't believe any of these are my boss.

If you knew what all the appointment process involved, you might be more pleased with the appointment of Lori Phillips-Jones and Mark Blakely. They were both vetted extensively by the executive branch of government and they are both quality individuals. They both have to run for election in 2 years. But I do think that now is the time to celebrate what this means to Scott County and congratulate both of these officials.

I know Lori Phillips-Jones from church and community event and I think she's great. She is a hard worker and an awesome mother with good Christian and family values. Her values are my values and I admire her. I don't know how she is as a district attorney because I'm never in court, thank goodness. But I will give her a chance to learn her new job and I will make it a point to learn if she's doing a good job. I've got 2 years to do that before I decide whether to vote for her or somebody else. I hope everyone in Scott county makes the effort to get to know her personally and observe the job she's doing. That's all I ask, Whether or not she is elected two years from now, she is an awesome woman and I am thrilled that the Governor appointed her to this important position. Congratulations Lori!

In the almost 2 years that have past since my last post, I have been very disappointed in Lori Phillips-Jones. She made herself lead prosecutor in the Campbell county school shooting case and she was pathetic. She doesn't know how to try a criminal case, much less a murder. She did the victims and their families a great injustice. And right after botching that case, she fired one of the most experienced criminal prosecutors in that office because he was running for the office she'd been appointed to. Lori never hired Jerod Effler and he didn't owe her anything. He'd already planned to run for district attorney when Paul Phillips stepped down. Effler is qualified and phillips- jones is not.

You have no clue what you are talking about. Mark Blakley got that job because he is a hard worker and he will do what he can to help people. If you aren't satisfied fine, but get the facts. Do you know how many people he has tried to help and then they think he should work some kind of miracle. He was appointed that position because he earned it. Leif Jeffers can't even do the job he has now. He prances around and trashes people when he should be doing his job. Where does the tax payers money go when he's out of his office while on the clock trashing people to get votes. Let's see how much crap we have to wade in until the election is over. Gonna find my wading boots and shovel. Give the man a bra. If it were cold outside, he would put your eye out. He doesn't care about the people. I don't care if you bad mouth me or say stupid idiotic things. Mark is a good man, he's honest and I think he has done a great job. He works hard to help people. Some people can't be helped. People are going to vote for who they think will do the best job. Mark, good luck. Don't worry about what people say. Wow, let's read topix more often. It's hilarious how people can trash each other and not post their names. That's how it feels when peoe trash a good person.

I have known Mark Blakley and his family for many years. He is a kind and honest man. He works hard every day and I am so proud of him. He was appointed his job because he is dedicated to his job and to the people. Not everyone has this point of view. Reguaurdless of what anyone says, I know he is the person for this job. I wish you the best and my family and friends are voting for you.

The term is eight years, who ever wins holds the office for eight years as do most judges. Yokum resigned 18 months before the end of her term some people in Union County went to prison over the election eight year ago that election was stolen, in Union County. Leif Jeffers won by 88 votes Union County found 100 extra absentee votes all for Martha , and she won the very next day, All other counties had certified their vote counts, and Union County changed theirs, to make Martha win., Check the files read the papers

Read the trial transcript. Jeffers lawsuit was tried in open court and it was proven that there was no foul play whatsoever. Wasn't Union Counry and wasn't absentee votes. You've got it so wrong it's pathetic.
