I was told by RCA that Charter Cable refused to install the necessary equipment after they converted to digital. I am trying to contact them to find out why.

Why doesn't my TV guide plus work,???
every time I it, it always says "next download and then it gives a time" but it never happens.
whats up with that?? I have time Warner cable. I love the TV guide plus, please give me some answers.

Well, after many calls to RCA and emails to GuidePlus representatives, my GuidePlus is back!!!!! Hurray!!!!
After many re-sets of the GuidePlus and trying this and that, RCA recently had me try a zip code of a town quite a ways from where I live and that seemed to give me most of the listings, except local ABC, NBC, and CBS stations. I'm trying now to find out what listing this particular zip code has for the ABC, NBC, and CBS stations. But at least stations such as A&E, USA, TNT, SCI-FI, TBS, COMEDY Channel, TCM, and so on, are all listed and with info!!!!!!! I'm so happy that it's working again!!!!
Also received an email telling me that listing should be available for my area within the next two weeks, so maybe then I'll try to put my zip code in where the other is (or maybe I better just leave well enough alone!!).
Anyways, just wanted to let you all know, and to tell you not to give up hope!! I thought because of the digital transition that this was causing the problem, but must be not.

John L, I'm curios to know if your TV Guide plus is still working. Mine went out about 3 weeks ago and hasn't downloaded a thing since. I also live in Clearfield and would love to know what zip you entered to get yours to work.

We stopped receiving the TV Guide information in the Orlando, Florida area on Thursday, February 19, 2009 via the local CBS station. The station cut off the transmission of the information because it was causing interference with their signal. The TV Guide folks said their engineers are looking at the problem but that it would take several weeks ... that the problem "is being worked and will be fixed." It is now March 11, 2009 and has still not been fixed.

Hey Denny K..... Sorry it took so long to get back here. I don't live in Clearfield, but for some reason that's what town they gave me when I got on this site awhile back. Anyway, RCA told me to enter in 17752 zip code, which is way south of me. It is Montgomery, Pa I think. But after I got a download of listings, I simply went into the "Editor" portion of the GuidePlus, and changed the numbers of the channels to my channel numbers. I.E.: the 17752 listing for A&E might have been something like channel 51, I simply changed it to what channel number A&E is in my area, and did so with all the other channels as well.
Hope this works out for you.... I really enjoy having the GuidePlus back!!!! I know I could look up to see what's on, on my computer, but it's so much easier when I'm in my couch potato mode to just use the GuidePlus!!!
I actually think if I had it all to do over again, that I would just start entering in the zip codes of other towns. After all, most channels like A&E, Comedy, TBS, and so on, have the same thing on in other towns as they do mine. Just edit the channel numbers to match the ones you receive after you get the download and listings...

Thanks a million John. I entered the zip into my guide plus and will shut it off for a day or two and see what happens. I'll let you know how things go.

The number that I called was 800-336-1900, this is a number for RCA. They will ask you for your television model number and also the serial number. So it helps to have this information before you call.
I would try a zip code from some town near where you live (or even not so near), this may do the trick too. The line-up may not be the same as your town, but you can edit that later.
My GuidePlus is still working (knock on wood!!!) and I use it all the time!! Man, did I miss it when it was gone!!

I just read the transcript of your "Live Chat" I had an eerily similar "chat" last night with "Ronald." Comcast has yanked my TV Guide. My only option is to install one of their HD STBs. Good old Comcast--cut service and then require more hardware at more cost to get them back.

My on screen TV Guide disappeared about 2 weeks ago. I've talked with at least 6 Comcast reps, several Panasonic "techs," my local PBS station, a couple of Comcast techs, a Comcast "Live Chat" and the only conclusion is that no one owns the problem--except me! My only solution seems to be to get a Hi Def STB (at an additional monthly charge) so that I can keep what Comcast is yanking: my HD channels, the TV Guide and the correct TIME!

I too had lost my gold guide. Thanks to John L, I have it back in all its glory...yahooo! I put in the first zip code that John L used for 2 nites and it didn't work, so I put in the zip for Punxsutawney,pa., which is the main office for Comcast in this area. The next day I got the message to pick the correct lineup from a list, with just a few channels, and the next day it was all there.

Lost our listing on GuidePlus last week, the cable company (Antietam Cable) assured me they have NOT blocked the transmittion. According to the cable company, MPT had provided GuidePlus transmittion for the Hagerstown area until recently. I'll call MPT tomorrow but don't hold too much hope.

I too have lost the tv guide. When we bought this 50 inch Samsung, that was a selling feature. It was really handy. Now, no matter what we try to do to get it back there is still the blank screen the next day. I thought it was us who was not putting the information in right but there is nothing left to try. I have asked the boys at future shop and best buy. They don't know a thing either. In my opinion this is a clear conspiracy to cut it out of the air waves by someone, but how do we prove it... I am all for a class action lawsuite to stand up to whom ever is responsible... Sure does tick me off.... I wonder what will be next from the greedy folks at the top of the food chain...

A few years back, "COMCAST" took over the cable service in our area. Ever since, Guide Plus has been on and off. At present it is off and has been for a few weeks. Screen indicates cable provider is blocking the signal. They say they can't. Any suggestions? I wonder if the upcoming change to digital has anything to do with this. The only other way to know whats on is to ungrade the cable service, which of course, cost more money.

My Guide Plus works.
I called John L phone# on 3/30/09. They told me to do the 99999 for zip code for 45 minutes then put in correct zip code turn TV on PBS station and trun TV off for 48 hours. Did not work. Called back and they gave me a reference# and someone would call. 2 days later they called and took alot of numbers from my TV and said leave TV on PBS channel and leave TV off from 11:45 to 6:30 AM. for 1 week. It look 17 days but now all my TV's have Guide Plus. It is supposed to work with the new Digital. Good Luck!!!!
