we all have things we have done we are not proud of I have been a friend of the Mapes family for 28 years and Steve had made a huge difference in his life and how he approaches people and business, there are alot of people who are pleased with the way he handles his business and will use them again. When a person goes on a site and states something about someone is it not up to the reader to make sure of the facts and not made out of angry towards a person. It is so easy to take a little information and blow it up to where it is out of hand. I am disgusted at the stupidity of the site and glad to know the family is taking legal action against the site.As humans is it right to attack someone because of a personal grudge and the public falls into the insanity. It is not right and I encourage to see what Steve is doing now and how hard he had worked to get there. He never had anything to do with his mothers death I was there through the whole ordeal from the very start of her illness and how dare the writers to state he had anything to do with it, I know for a fact his family members are disgusted with the lies that has been stated. Steve's family may be nice people but you do not know Steve. He is a two strike felon that has conned Lincoln Nebraska residents out of thousands and thousands of dollars over a period of 35+ years. I hardly knew Steve but knew he paid people around $50 an hour to help him do hauling with Four Seasons Hauling. There were around 10 of us that did this to make a quick 50 on a weekend day for a couple hours work. Or so we thought. He would call them on the phone when you got in his truck and close the hauling deal. Steve said, "Yes I'll do it for $75". We then drive to the job site.(usually little old ladies) When we get there he always says "Stay in the truck and out of sight". When it's time to work is when the owner has went about their business. When the job is finished Steve takes you in with him to collect the pay. The person then says "Now we agreed on seventy five dollars, right?". At that point Steve starts screaming "I TOLD YOU $150". Their response "Steve we agreed on seventy five". Then Steve Screams "I TOLD YOU SEVENTY FIVE EACH!"

You catch that? He makes you wait in the truck so the victim thinks it's one guy. When it's time to collect the cash it's two guys and a slight misunderstanding. Since Steve usually only takes jobs from vulnerable older women, he used his loud on the spot screaming temper tantrum to intimidate them.

I sat right there and saw Steve do this to a Female Lincoln Police officer. We only did 20 minutes of work. Steve ripped the check from her hand after screaming at her and stomped out the door. I told the woman I was sorry and she would never see me with him again. We both chuckled at our experience and I told her I would bring the money back when Steve paid me. She told me to keep the money and said "I think we both learned a valuable lesson today". I agreed.
I had Steve immediately take me home and I never went anywhere with that psycho again.

You think that LPD lady cop forgot about that? Hardly. She would have known who Steve was if she was not new on the force.

The six of us that run stevemapes.com also run a local Lincoln Nebraska Chat Room. Steve was allowed in even though we all knew it might cause problems. We tried to be fair. Steve had a business transaction going with someone in the chat room. Someone Steve has known for decades. Someone that was close to Steve's father as well. This someone was selling Steve a trailer. The deal was Steve would use the trailer for one week and then Steve claimed "My dad will pay for it on the seventh day". The seventh day came and went. The 8th, the 9th and so on. After two weeks the owner of the trailer politely said "If you don't have the money for it you have to bring it back". Steve freaked out and threatened to kill the seller of the trailer and his entire family. Steve then began stalking the owner of the trailer, driving by his house at all hours honking and yelling insults at his wife unloading groceries in the driveway.
Chapter two: Now you have two enemies fighting in a chat room that has nothing to do with their trailer deal. Steve then boldly claims "I will have this chat room shut down unless you ban him".(the owner of the trailer). Steve was told that was not fair. Steve responded by calling crime stoppers and filing false reports. During conversation with the Detective, the Detective said "Well you are obviously not running a crack house, who do you think would file a false report?". When I told the detective Steve Mapes did it the detective took a step back and gasped for air. The Detective then stated "You can tell by my reaction I know who Steve is". The guy then started to show sympathy towards my situation as he has been handling complaints about Steve most his career on the force. The detective made the threatening phone calls and drive by screamings stop.
Out of some twisted mercy Steve was somehow still tolerated and allowed in the Chat Room. the last straw came when Steve was talking to a hispanic man in California. Steve talked with the man peacefully for 10 minutes making friends. When their conversation came to a close Steve totally turned on the guy and started screaming "I AM SORRY YOU ARE A FIN (insert racial slur) LIKE THE ONE WITH THE TRAILER". That was the last straw as far as the chat room was concerned. Steve was banned. Steve Mapes of Lincoln Nebraska then Threatened to kill every one of us, our wives and our children. Steve mapes of Lincoln Nebraska is going to kill someone and you heard it here first. When one Lincoln business owner drove by Steve's house he stopped and seen Steve was on the roof. Steve was washing the tiles on his roof with a garden hose. Steve then lifted up his shirt and exposed a handgun claiming "If they try to get me I am gonna kill em!".

One more story. Steve went to do a hauling job bragging to all of us "They are going to give me a bunch of radio equipment for hauling junk".

Steve comes back a couple hours later telling everyone "I now have a Kenwood ts-450, a cw key, an rf amplifier and a tuner". "Wow" everyone said, "Nice haul". Steve then told everyone the radios belonged to an old ham that just died. The poor elderly wife of the Silent Key Amateur Radio Operator had to give her husbands gear away to pay the hauling bill. Steve was bragging how vunerable "the old b&*ch" was.

And now the evil part. Steve opened the Silent Key's desk drawers as he removed the gear from the desktop. Steve said "I see his passport in the drawer so I just emptied all the drawers in a box and quickly stashed it". While Steve was going through the recently dead man's papers Steve starts screaming "I HAVE THE MAN's PASSPORT< DRIVERS LICENSE< SOCIAL SECURITY CARD and HAM RADIO LICENSE!!!!". Steve then starting laughing and bragging, and I quote Steve said "I AM GOING TO STEAL THIS DEAD GUY'S IDENTITY HA HA HA". Steve also stated "I AM GOING TO USE HIS PASSPORT< ID AND SOCIAL SECURITY CARD TO GET A FAKE HAM LICENSE IN HIS NAME". We were all in shock hearing this.

Now for those that don't understand what is happening, A well respected old Ham Operator that worked his whole life to further his hobby was having every bit of his paperwork and principles raped, while he is not even cold in the grave. The man was strictly a morse code only operator which happens to be the most coveted. When it was suggested "Het Steve, don't you think you better do the right thing and take the papers back", Steve replied "NO WAY, I GOT THAT STIPID OLD ^&*^*( IDENTITY NOW, F EM' "

This has to be one of the most shameless things I have ever seen happen to someone. Someone worked their whole life for something to help people and moments later it's all being raped by some lunitic named Steve Mapes in Lincoln Nebraska.

remember sluggos in east park plaza? it was an aracade in the mall. To keep Steve out of their hair, every day Steve would receive a roll of quarters for the arcade. Back in the 80's. As the story goes Steve and our member rode bikes to Steve's house to get his money. They went in side and Steve is saying "Mom, where is my roll of quarters". Steve's mom then reaches down in the pocket of her chair and pulls out a zip lock bag of quarters. Steve starts screaming "NO!! I WANT MY ROLL OF QUARTERS!!! ROLLS OF QUARTERS!!! " Steve's mother then said, "Now Steve, there is eleven dollars and fifty cents in that zip lock bag".(all quarters) Steve then started screaming again "NO, I WANT MY ROLL OF QUARTERS!!!" Our member than wanted no part of this and walked to wait outside. Moments later after more screaming and banging around was heard inside, Steve came tromping outside saying "FIN B87CH, SHOULD HAVE HAD MY ROLL OF QUARTERS". You see Steve's status as a rich kid was based on crisp bills and rolls of quarters. That's right, even though a roll is ten dollars and there was eleven fifty in quarters in the bag.

Our member tells us after they returned home from sluggos arcade there was an ambulance and police outside Steve's house.

Steve's last words to his mother was screaming and God only knows what happened when our informant went outside. Now get this, the author of this story and the very person that seen this unfold, was a good friend of the family.

Folks, this guy is pure evil. You have no idea. The strange thing is Steve is a meek little man that is afraid of women. Steve has never dated a girl in the decades people have known him. The really part is Steve has a pastel rainbow flag hanging in the window of his house. When he was asked why it was there Steve said "Thats a hippy flag". Fair enough, but that still does not explain why Steve was busted at the 405 rest area trying to proposition a male undercover cop".

For those of you that remember the gay channel 10 tv news weatherman that was caught at the rest area, Steve was busted in the same sting. And that is sad because that weatherman was such a nice man. When Steve was asked why he did it Steve said "I was going to ask for the money first and take it and run". Ya, ok... Seems an awful lot of trouble for 20 dollars.

Steve would go to their house, knock on the door and say "Hi I am Steve Mapes, my wife is very sick and my wealthy father is out of town, could I borrow $350 for medicine and my dad will pay you back when he gets back from his business trip". Most of his victims he did this scam to were elderly wealthy people that simply forgot the money was borrowed. Those that remembered had to be paid off by his dad.

Steve Mapes threatens to kill all Jews and the Owner of Royal Pawn Shop Lincoln Nebraska.

Steve Mapes put 50 dollars down layaway on a $300 dollar bicycle at the Royal Pawn Shop in Lincoln Nebraska. It was a 30 day layaway plan. Meaning you have 30 days to pay off the remained or they will take all your money. Thirty days came and went. On day thirty Steve went in with 25 dollars. Not wanting conflict, the owner of royal pawn extended him by another 7 days. The 7 days came and went. On the next 7 days the owner of Royal Pawn said "Ok Steve, 7 more days and that's it. If you don't pay in seven days I can legally take all of your money for holding the bike for you". "Steve, that is how layaway works". Steve Agreed.

What do you think happened on the next seventh day. Steve went in there and The owner was expecting his money. Steve tried to play it off saying "oh come on, it's Steve Mapes here, give me some more time". The owner of royal pawn said, Well you have about 45 minutes till we close". Steve Mapes started screaming " YOU FIN JEW, YOU FIN JEW, I AM GOING TO KILL YOU YOU FIN JEWS!!!!!". Steve was still screaming as he came out of Royal Pawn Shop. Steve then turned around in front on many onlookers on the sidewalk and spit on the front window of Royal Pawn yelling " YOU FIN JEWS!!!! I AM GOING TO KILL ALL OF YOU FIN JEWS".

Steve Mapes then immediately got on his cell phone to call his dad. When he dad answered Steve said "DAD....THIS FIN JEW DOWN AT ROYAL PAWN SHOP JUST RIPPED ME OFF". His dad asked why and Steve told his dad what happened. When Steve's dad told him that he should not of got invloved Steve started screaming at his dad "YOU MEAN THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO ABOUT THIS FIN JEW?!?!?!". his dad told him no and Steve threw his cell phone on the floor of the truck.

This did not happen all that long ago and dozens of people in Lincoln witnessed it.

Steve walks in to a Russ's IGA in Lincoln Nebraska to get smokes. It's rush hour in there. All lines are backed to the isle. Steve grabs a pack of smokes and walks up and cuts in front of the line. You see the cashier was one of stevemapes.com 's member's 16 year old daughter. the girl tells Steve, I am sorry, you will have to go to express. Steve said "just ring them up for me". She told Steve "I can't or they will go on these people's bill, please go wait at the express line". Steve walks over to the express line and sees there are like 5 people in line. Steve Mapes then walks back to the 16 year old girl's checkout line and demands her to ring up his pack of smokes so he can leave. She said with great patience again "I am sorry Steve, I can't do it, the checker that does it has to be 18 or over anyway".(express lane)

Guess what Steve did next? He started screaming at the young girl right there in front of a store of people at rush hour. Steve screamed " YOU FIN STUPID B*&ch!!! I AM NOT GOING TO STAND IN LINE WITH ALL OF THE GD LOSERS!!!!"

Steve had to be escorted out of the store by 3 managers and was told never to return to Russ's IGA in Lincoln Nebraska. The young woman Steve was yelling at is/was a Sunday School Teacher, the daughter of one of stevemapes.com 's founders.

Steve Mapes walks in to the U-Stop gas station on 27th and Stockwell. there is a 16 year old girl working. Steve walks up and starts sexually harassing the girl trying to touch her. They have never met before this encounter. The manager screams "HEY YOU, LEAVE HER ALONE". Steve then goes on a mantra about he can do what he wants and "this is a free country". The manager tells him to leave the store or she is calling the cops. Steve tells her "Call the cops, you have no idea who you are dealing with". Manager warns him again "last chance, leave now".

Can you guess what Steve did? he stood right there and waited for the cops. When the cops arrived Steve told them it was his right to be there". The Lincoln Police were not very happy when they found Steve was sexually harassing and actually touching this 16 year old clerk. Once again Steve was carted off and given another citation for disturbing the peace.

Steve's next move was to tell everyone he knew what he did and the whole story. Steve thought people would think he was manly touching some 16 year old girl. Steve did it to prove he was not a fag and it backfired. He expected all of us to say "wow you are a real man". We all were like "dude, you are trying to touch children now". Steve laughed like he did not understand how morbid it all was.

U-Stop Steve Mapes Harassment Chapter 2:

Guess what happened when the 16 year old girl's dad found out about what Steve did. First thing her dad did was find out where he lived. he seemed to have accomplished that in seconds as Steve told the clerks at the station "I am Steve Mapes, you can't mess with me". Phonebook + address = father at Steve's house in minutes.

16 year old girl's father beats on Steve's door yelling "YOU WANT TO TOUCH MY DAUGHTER, WHY DON'T YOU COME OUTSIDE AND TOUCH ME". Steve Mapes answers the door with a golf club in his hand scared to death. Steve Yells " Get out of here or i am calling the police". 16 girls father says "Bring yourself and that golf club out here, I'll wrap it around your neck". Steve stays inside, calls 911. Police arrive and carry the 16 year old girl's daughter away saying " I AM GONNA KILL HIM FOR TOUCHIN MY DAUGHTER!!!!".

And get this people, the Lincoln Police sympathised with the girl's father and did not charge him even though they could have put a number of violations on him and taken him to jail. The LPD must have told the poor father that Steve's time was coming as he is a two strike drug felon.

As a mysterious twist to the end of this story, a few days later Steve's windshield in his truck was totally smashed in. Seems someone slept a little better that night. First thing Steve did when he discovered it was to blame it on one of his enemies from months ago.

Now by our hand on this side think of this. I say you may be liable. If you are funding terorism you are guilty. if you are a parent and your out of control kid is out smashing windows, you are liable. You are enabling these acts to happen by misguidence. The same way a doctor is liable if they release someone before they get the proper care or thousands of other scinereos.

I think if you somehow behind the scenes have had a hand in enabling this person, you may be liable for damages by way of conpiracy. That's right. Steve Mapes hauls junk. Some of the junk he trys to sell in garage sales. At his garage sale I seen a bunch of old WW2 nazi metel emblems, buttons and belt buckles. That sort of thing. They were not for sale.

The man is a bonified self loathing gay nazi. he hates himself so much he is literally torn. Rainbow flag in the window and nazi stars special cases in the garage. It's for everyone to see at his garage sales. These are some how twisted symbols of his.....whatever.

You see Steve is like the nut that shot Dimebag from Pantera. These people intrigue us and sicken us at the same time. They become legends of their time. With all of these mall shootings people are really starting to look at people. This is not some mouthy stumbling drunk of a community. this guy is warning sign squared walking the streets daily. These people don't live in the same world you do. Their reality is all they know when they encounter you. You could be dog meat to people like this if you cross them at the wrong time.

Steve Mapes's dad pays friend of the family to show Steve what work is all about. Steve's dad wanted Steve to learn not to be so spoiled and enabled. Teach Steve the value of making a dollar and the higher value of taking pride in his work. This was back in the early 90's. the friend of the family was in construction.

Check this out. Steve's dad payed this good friend of the family, who I might add is a stevemapes.com co-founder, Steve's dad payed him $750 a week just to let him tag along at the job site.$750 babysitting fee was what it ended up to be.

Steve's job was gopher on the job site with light duties. it was time for Steve to start doing some real work. There was a hole to be drilled. Not just by any drill. The drill used on the contruction site will break your arm, wrist or jaw if you are not careful. When it was time for the instructions to operate the drill were to be announced Steve interupted "I can do it, I can do it". The friend of the family said "Steve, this drill can break your arm, let me explain a few "I CAN DO IT! I CAN DO IT!". No Steve you don't understand you can be hurt and "I CAN DO IT! I CAN DO IT!". Steve then throws the drill down and throws a huge screaming temper tantrum in front of half a dozen construction workers and builders. The FRIEND OF THE FAMILY had to apologize to all of the other workers and take time from the job to take him home. The FRIEND OF THE FAMILY (co-founder stevemapes.com ) took Steve's dad's seven hundred and fifty dollars back and said "Sorry, I just can't do it".

Do you follow me. the guy was paid $750 a week just to babysit one guy that should be picking up scraps and sweeping up. Free worker plus $750 cash a week for giving him the job. It was like getting a free thousand dollar bill every week with the 750 and light work he did combined. he didn't have to pay Steve as Steve's dad was paying on top of the 750. And our friend of the family had to take Steve back because an extra thousand a week was just not worth it.

How bad can someone be to not be worth getting a free $1000 a week? Not many people fit in that category.

Why does this matter? Because Steve WAS the son of a Local Lincoln multi multi millionare. This was a great part of what enabled Steve's twisted reality to form.

Back in the late 80's one of Steve Mapes wealth ygrandparents died. Steve sued his grandparents estate and got like $750,000. Steve ran off to phoenix Arizona and became addicted to crack. He was broke within 2 years and back in Lincoln getting his door kicked in by the LPD.

Steve bought a $35,000 speed boat and sold it for $3000 to get crack. the guy that bought the boat went to Steve's dad wondering what was going on. Steve's dad gave the guy his money back and compensated him for his trouble.

Steve thought he was a big time coke gangster. he bought a $5000 Persian Rug. A couple weeks later he sold it for $500 to buy crack.

the people feeding our press have told us Steve was known as what is called a "carpet surfer". When the drugs were gone Steve would spend hours combing the carpet looking for droppings.
