In gun free zones, you can be assured that only the thugs, and killers have guns there, the rest are defenseless victims waiting for a bullet. In gun free zones, only the bad guys have them.

The Westroads Mall tragedy underscores the need for informing the public about where gun-free zones are located.
Once done, law abiding citizens can avoid them and thus reduce the number of potential victims.

I guess Mr. Hawkins didn't notice the "Gun Free Zone" sign. Too bad, since those signs have magical repellant powers only if the criminals see them.

Have you ever heard of a mass shooting in a police station, at a pistol range, or at a gun show? Suicidal mass murderers may be insane, but they are not necessarily stupid. They always select a soft target for their final acts of violence.

The simple fact remains that these mass murders are much more likely to occur in areas that have been designated as gun-free zones. Post Offices were the first buildings associated by the media with mass shootings, in this case by disgruntled workers who were said to "go postal". The fact that guns were prohibited in Post Offices was well publicized.

How many people, no matter how much they might hate guns, would be willing to put a sign on their house stating, "We have no guns here"? Common sense tells us that this is an invitation to criminals. But evidently that common sense doesn't translate to schools and other public places that have been designated gun-free zones.

Wow! A major media network reporting with logic. All of the other articles rampaged on about the shooter having an imaginary "automatic SK-47 assualt rifle" and completely failed to mention that the mall was a "gun free zone."

Thanks to Omaha's mayor, the mall isn't the only gun-free zone. All public places in Omaha do not allow concealed weapons. It's the same in Lincoln, and Nebraska City. Way to go mayors for putting the law abieding citizens in harms way. Grrrr

In Canada, our gang related gun murders increase with gun control.

A "gun free" zone is a gift to criminals.

I don't pay any attention to "signs" that say something is a "gun free zone." I carry my Glock anyway. No man or sign can take away my right to life. I wish that scumbag would have pulled that thing out while I was standing there. I would have made his head into a canoe, and a lot of innocent people who are dead would instead be having a Merry Christmas with their families this year.
When are people in this country going to wise up and start acting like their brave ancestors did?

One can only hope that those that are carrying guns are smart enough to handle them. That's the only gun control we need.

I can't speak for everyone, but I take my right to carry, seriously. I believe that everyone should. Carrying a firearm is a huge responsibility.
I also practice once a week, year around. I have never in 40 years had an accidental discharge. I understand that my carry weapon is a defensive tool. It can save my or someone else's life.
I live like my ancestors. They did not cower in the face of danger; neither will I. I have never believed that the criminal cowards out there have any right to take someone's life, and if they try to take mine, they will forfeit their own.

I fear riding a bicycle on a road more than gunshots during deer hunting season.
