i would like to say that you have it wrong on where the shootings of kathleen pate & mandy jeffers occured.it was not in a shared home of gary & kathy in norris city, it was in a home shared by kathy & mandy in carmi.gary is my brother & i am very saddened(to put it mildly)as is my entire family, to have to deal with the horrific loss of my beloved sister in law & niece.yes,we are truly devastated! many people do not realize that just because gary is our family member,does not mean that we support in any way shape or form what he has done

Are you sure the shootings took place in Carmi and not Norris city?

They were killed in Norris City as Kathy was dropped off by her neighbor, read the friggin'newspapers - she saw him coming for her and ran - but she couln't run fast or far enough from the sick prick.

I attended college with Kathy for a few months and after she had had to flee her home and quit school I ran into her at Kroger's in Harrisburg. She was so scared, I offered her a place to hide and she turned me down - afraid to drag me into her hell I guess. It wasn't much later that she was dead.

What I don't understand is if someone knew their brother was a sick prick why didn't they step in and help - maybe Kathy and and Mandy would be still be alive. Maybe those children that she loved so much could be back to school shopping with their mother. Maybe Mandy would have a baby of her own. Maybe Kathy would have become a nurse... Maybe Gary wouldn't spend the rest of his sorry wasted life taking up space. A sick drug using creep - and the family couldn't see it coming?

I'd like Garu to be human enough to know pain and sorrow and guilt, but he is human enough for those emotions. Like a rabid dog I want Gary to die. I want him to watch the cell doors for months, never knowing when it will come - let him wonder if the end will come in the food he eats, the water he drinks, the tooth paste he uses or perhaps a knife in the ribs....I want him to knowit;s coming but not know when or how,just like poor Kathy.

I hear ya ! I wish it could have been different. I didn't know either of the gals but I was 99% sure the shooting took place in Norris City. I'm truly sorry.

No the shootings took place in a house shared by Kathy and Mandy in NORRIS CITY! Not carmi! Kathy moved into a house rented in norris City to Mandy. Believe me I know. and I don't care if you are Gary's brother you should get your facts striaght. You all think you feel so much pain becuz you knew them but you didn't live through that hell. You'll never know my pain.

Youll never know my pain, I am so sorry for your pain. Just know that there are people who Pray that you have peace about all of the things that have happened.Domestic Violence is a terrible thing.Pate got the death penalty and he very well deserves it.

I am Amanda's cousin and Kathy was my aunt they lived in Norris City.This was a stupid thing that happened and it shouldn't had even happened.And i just wish everyday that this didn't happen cause mandy could be her with me and her fiance . People who really care and really love there loved ones wouldn't do this and everyone knows that. But for everyone that thinks it's bad try living with Mandy's dad and aunt Kathy's ex husband.I just wish everyday that it was a dream. I miss and love them very much and wish they were still here with us.I WILL SEE THEM AGAIN SOMEDAY CAUSE I KNOW WHERE THEY ARE..... HEAVEN ABOVE !!!!!
