I remember when I was in high school. There were classmates who felt as though they did not have to do well in school. They felt as though they were well-connected because a parent or relative was able to get them a job at what was then Specialty Records. They knew uneducated people who worked there and were doing well for themselves, and basically thought that if you got your foot in the door at Specialty, you were set for life.
They didn't realize that the world was going to change.
