As citizen of Bath County I am incensed by the reinstatement of voting rights to Sonny Swartz after his activities in vote buying just five years ago. If you would like to let the Governor know how you feel about his irresponsible and insulting action, here is a link to his office: http://governor.ky.gov/contact/contact.htm

Here is a little more info about Swartz's political activities which may have lead to his voting privileges being "restored":

My bad, didn't work. Here is where the info can be found:

http://www.kref.state.ky.us/krefsearch/

Click "To All Recipients" in left column under "Contributor Searches". Enter "Swartz" in last name and "Roosevelt" in the first name (no other info needed) and enter (Thank God for the Freedom of Information Act). Notice the bottom "contribution" and the date. Some of our very best young men sacrificed all to ensure our freedom, and some have to only dole out a $1000.

After what he was convicted of, he is not good enough to sweep the floors in the election booth, let alone pull a lever. The blood spilled by young men to give us the privilege to chose our leaders was a sacrifice greater than any good he or I will ever be able to live up to, but he desecrated it when he circumvented the voting process in buying votes and now his voting privileges have been "given" back. So yes, he has done me in, you in and the 43,185,893 million US soldiers that have died defending our rights.

Bravo. I hope this matters. Sadly, people in Bath County have no sense of patriotism, or just plain old right and wrong.

You are not intellectually capable of understanding that the democratic system we cherish was bought with the blood of soldiers. To belittle that precious right by subverting it through vote buying, is unpatriotic, unAmerican, and totally wrong. In other words: Soldiers died so we can vote. Sonny was a bad boy when he bought votes because that's why they died. Get it?

One would have to ask, in a round about way did Swartz appoint Lyons? We know Swartz has tried to influence the voting process in the past and Gov. Steve Beshear gave him voting rights back. We also know there is a money connection between Swartz and the candidates. Maybe the voters can put the pieces of the puzzle together. Some of you people could be helpful in pointing out the pieces,(WOW and possum).

Can you post some links. This is the type of stuff that people need to know. If they see the facts out there I believe they will get a picture of what is going on. There are enough honest voters in Bath County that if they see it is crooked, I believe they will vote them out. We just need to try and get the word out in the next two months. I hope we can get enough facts together that maybe Jamison will run it in the paper.
