We had a murder in Megargel in the fall. Now we have two more bodies found in Archer County. Will we become the murder capital of Texas? What is going on here? Why is the Archer County S.O. not watching the county better. In some areas the S.O. deputies aren't seen at all. They should be making an apperance in the county and not just the north and east part of the county. Us in the south and west part of the county pay taxes too and we want some services too.
Hey new Sheriff, do your job!!!

I live across the street from the new sheriff and she takes her job very serious. If you count the hours she works it would not even be minimum wage. If you are given a limited number of employees and Archer County is a big county there cannot be a deputy every where. If you can tell where the murders will happen maybe you should think about going in to the law business of some kind. The sheriff and deputies are in Megargel and the area quite a bit. Unless you are sitting watching for them then how do you know? People have a obligation to help watch there areas too. If you see something that does not look right call and let the law know. Just speed and you can find out if they are in the area. Keep paying those taxes because the government needs all we can send them. LoL If you are in Morrisville how do you know all this information anyway? Hey, that fishing sounds really good too. I have watched this sheriff's department over 60 years now and not much changes. It is the people and times that change. When I was growing up they had beer to deal with which was no big deal. Now they have all the drugs and still have all the drunks driving around. No hard feelings, just my side of the story.

The reason I know what is going on in Megargel is because I live there. Topix messed up on where I am from. I think I have it fixed now. Will see when I send this. Also I talk to people I know in Megargel at the stores there and they say that they make an apperance there about once a week. For you information I have 20 years in law enforcement and am retired.
Retired City employee, if you don't live in Megargel, how do you know that the sheriff and deputies are there quiet a bit. We watch our areas too, when we call the S.O. to tell them something the dispatcher cannot tell us when a deputy will be there because they do not know where their deputies are.

Hey, I am just an interested citizen wanting to help get something fixed if it is not right. I listen to the scanner a lot since I retired and I am interested in what goes on in our county. Sometimes the sheriff dosen't know what is going on, but she needs to. I think we should let her know if things aren't getting done the way they should be. I have just worked as a reserve officer in the past, but worked with the North Texas Drug Task Force and all the WF Police Officers, but when you get older as I am now I have to let the young ones take over. LOL I just want to be your friend and we can keep things going. I give them fits now because when I was there they did the same to me. LOL Just give them a call if something is not going right and don't give up, call again if you do not get results. You know the old story about the squeaking wheel getting the grease. Have a super day!

Thanks for your friendly words of advice. I can see that you are hooked on your computer so maybe you should find a hobby or get a life. When I am not listening to my scanner I mow lawns, paint, build ramps, clean storage buildings, pumbing & electrical work, run errands, etc for senior citizens at no cost at all to them. I coin hunt, hunt & fish, make garage & estate sales, go to auctions, buy & sell antiques at my small business, photographer, remodel rent houses, weld, head of housing committee just to name a few. What else do you want me to do fellow since I am retired? I could have retired anywhere, except where you live. Thanks for the advice anyway. You have a nice day and help someone everyday if you have time. No hard feelings man.

I guess it's just a matter of being nosy in a small town. seems like everyone is in someone's business.

You have that correct. You can speak to a woman at the post office and it gets back home before you do. LOL Is Snyder in West Texas? I have probably driven through it, but do not remember. The small towns have their drawbacks, but after working in Wichita Falls for 40 years I just decided to move back. Nearly everyone I saw thought I was crazy and I guess I probably am.

Archer county sucks, all the cops do is sit around and eat donut, they do not know how to do there job. There investagater JM need a refresher course, not only is he incompetent but completely irresponsiable. The new sheiff needs to fire his ass, and quite costing the county and the state of Texas so much money. Go after the big dogs and leave the poor people alone.

CITY GIRL,
I hope you live in Houston like your address states. Maybe you can help them run the police departments or whatever down there since you are so knowledgeable in law enforcement. Maybe you can find a solution to the speeding on the freeways. I guess we never get so old that we could use a refresher course in something. Maybe you need a refresher course in spelling since you cannot spell Sheriff. My spelling is not good either, but I do try to do little refresher courses. Don't worry too much about them eating donuts in AC because there are not any in town. We now have a police department and he goes after the big dogs and he picked one up in my neighborhood last week. I think it was a Lab. I am glad that you think our county sucks because that means we do not have to worry about you moving here. Woops there you go again, cannot spell quit either, investigator, their job, irresponsible, Their investigator needs. You see, we all need refresher courses. I am sure they do the best they can. I hope you do the best you can on doing your job to make up for some that do not. No hard feelings, I am just messing with you. At my age that is about all you can do. LOL

What has happened is that Archer County is too busy Pissing away money on their new jail to worry about what happens in Megargel. There aren't enough votes in this area to matter, they are all on the other side of the county. So Megargel has become the lawless part of the county that you can get away with just about anything. We end up paying and don't get any of the services that should be spread evenly through the county. Southwest Archer county is billed the lawless area of the county!!!!!!!!

Ah Mac, I was afraid that something happened to you since it has been so long. You will be glad to hear about this. They are putting a new Donut Shop into the old Sonic building so no more trips to WF to get donuts. Also getting a boot and shoe repair shop. Now how is that for service? New Jail & New Donut Shop. Now I am sure that if you come over to visit they will offer you a donut. I even heard, not sure about how true, but there will be plenty of jail space for the bandits and killers in Southwest Archer County. I will trade my tax bill for yours if that would make you any happier. I hope you don't need the law over to help you and I hope I don't either. Being a former member of the law enforcement I hope you are still working with the law to help maintain law. I turn in everything that looks like it may not be legal. I know that they get tired of putting cows back in the pastures. I hope you do not get a city police over there or you will get stopped if you don't stop at every stop sign.
