I mean, really...think about it.

Since a VERY SMALL minority (less than one millionth of all Americans) has a tendency to go berserker a few times a year and commit mass murder, ALL of us should lose the right to own firearms.

Makes PERFECT sense to me...

And while we are at it...since a far far vaster amount of people get behind the wheel of a car drunk and cause the deaths of thousands each year, I guess we need to take away the driving privileges of everyone else while we are at it...right?

We could take this analogy to almost anything if we wanted, but the point is:

YOU DO NOT PUNISH EVERYONE FOR SOMETHING DONE BY ONLY A FEW

If two guys in high school get in a knife fight, do we punish the entire school?

OF COURSE WE SHOULD if you go by the logic of the anti-gun crowd.

Here's a suggestion for those people...if you want to live in a country where people are not allowed to have guns, MOVE TO ONE.

To make it perfectly clear:

The Supreme Court has ruled that Illinois MUST enact a concealed-carry law. That means that ALL 50 STATES will now have concealed-carry laws.

If you don't like it...you live in the wrong country.

I'll even help you apply for a passport and help buy you a ticket to leave if you want.

I live in AMERICA...and America says "Yes, you can have one".

I reiterate one final time...IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, LEAVE.

And take BJO with you please...

Oops! Federal trumps all your little state laws!
If you are asking from state to state then contact a lawyer. In a direct manner of answering this question
straightly. The answer is absolutely a NO. The same thing applies to possessing ammunition. Therefore under federal Law any Convicted felon or 'restricted' person who owns, possess or has under his control any firearm or firearms parts including Ammo. Can be convicted to a terms up to TEN YEARS.

This federal gun Law also applies to any misdemeanor conviction that's sentence carries a term of over 1 Year and 1 day. However under Federal law does NOT apply to Blackpowder Revolvers, Rifles or ammunition. As a word of caution please understand that using a #10 primer on a blackpowder is also deemed a 'firearm part' as its used into shotgun ammunition. Some states also deem Blackpowder to be a firearm or a weapon.

As far as state to state laws that seem really Contradictory. Some allow felons to possess only Rifles and/or shotguns while barring them from handguns. Same goes for felons can't legally own Ammo either. While others allow ownership of all the above except while on Probation. States also restrict felons from being in presence of or 'in control' of firearms. A felon hanging out with a friend who's shooting ducks or a felon who's GF/BF have firearms in their own home locked up. Both are deemed either in the presence of or in control of firearms.

Last but not the least. Since the Federal Law mentions if EVER convicted of a felony. People have been arrested and convicted under the above laws even AFTER a PARDON. Even after passing the background check and all. Certain police officers have filed with the DA (District Attorney) and made convictions under Federal Law. So even "Ex-Felons" are not exempt from the long arm of the Federal Statute.

You dolt...do you REALLY think that is accurate? Christ, that article was written by someone that is barely literate...

There are NO Federal gun owner laws that supersede ANY state law concerning gun ownership.

That is why the Brady Act says:

The following list of prohibited persons are ineligible to own firearms under the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act.

Those convicted of felonies and certain misdemeanors except where state law reinstates rights, or removes disability.

Checkmate fool.

Section 922(g) of the Brady Act prohibits certain persons from owning a firearm:
1.Has been convicted in any court of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year;
2.Is a fugitive from justice;
3.Is an unlawful user of or addicted to any controlled substance;
4.Has been adjudicated as a mental defective or committed to a mental institution;
5.Is an alien illegally or unlawfully in the United States;
6.Has been discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions;
7.Having been a citizen of the United States, has renounced U.S. citizenship;
8.Is subject to a court order that restrains the person from harassing, stalking, or threatening an intimate partner or child of such intimate partner, or;
9.Has been convicted in any court of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.
10.Has a record of being a felon.

Looks like you lose on many counts!

Federal law ALWAYS TRUMPS STATE LAW. Go to one of the new marijuana states and lite up a fattie in from of a DEA agent and find out, fool!

Game, set, match fool!

What Mr. Ratcliffe is saying also applies to a person that has been sentenced on felon crime and in prisonment, etc. Loses his and her constitutional right to be a voter, etc. Until he or she is no longer subjected to prison and other conditons of the felony crime that includes every thing. The felony case terms and requirements ordered by the court had been fulfilled herein the tate Of Illinois Government (Entity)

Note: Each State Has It's Own Constitution and Statutory Laws. What applies to one sate does not mean it applies to all states.

__________

Note: While the federal government has controlling power of areas of laws above state governments. While at he same time neither the federal and state government is allowed to control the powers ad duties belonging to the other. Unless where the laws ha made it clear. That there is no constitutional violation of governmental power and duties by the federal government and or one or more of the 50 state government (Etities). That includes the sveral different duties and powers of the individual executive, legislative, and judicials functions. That also inclues powers and duties belong to government (entities) under the Executive, Legislative, and Judical Branch agencies, etc.

You're contradicting yourself, you freakfaced nut!
Illinos has to cleanse your felony!
Moving to Tennessee gets you zilch.
Federal law provides significant penalties for felons in possession of weapons, unless the felon has his rights restored by the convicting state.
