<quoted text> I believe it's a made up name, but some say the real killers name was Bobby jo Wilson ,who ever that is. I know they suspected Tommy Duncan for many years aka Ricky Dunn & Dupont Smith aka Winston Flack as the main killers.so who knows. I hear jim died this past December &left Tommy all his money&land, so if Jim thought he killed his brother he wouldn't have done that
Gary Russell is Greg Long & Soapy taylor is Bubba Tillis

The book revealed who the killer was, and then he died of a heart attack before he could be arrested. So, is that not true? I don't want to say much more because I don't want to give it away if you haven't read the book. Someone posted that Soapy Taylor was Bubba Tillis. Is it possible that "Tiny" Brock was Bubba Tillis? As for the kid who was killed afterwards, the book says a man came forward saying he ran over the boy. If that's true, the boy wasn't murdered. Anybody know the names of the other characters?

I do believe that it has been solved cause, Foschino would not say it was if it wasn't. I know him personally, and these unsolved causes meant alot to him.

The boy was run over by the 17 ye old is what was told, but I always heard he was killed and put in rd to look like accident. Funny it happened few days after hoskins murder. Foschino said he got killed because he knew about some guns that had been stolen. But, he doesn't say that in book. Maybe guns were stolen to kill hoskins.

The only ones still alive are Soapy and Tommy. Tommy inherited everything Jim had and Soapy last I knew about him, he was living in a half way house where he was released from prison on some other charges.

You can also order them from his website, www.booksbyacop.com . I've purchased 2 of the 3 from there, plus he autographs them for you, in case you care about that.
I've read all 3 of them. Good to know a little about things from the area, however not the best writer. I have enjoyed reading all 3 and will read more from him.
Hi,

Wow!one of my favorite topix. So, about the 17 yr old that got ran over. It was considered solved. Supposedly it was an "accident" and a young kid finally told that he did it. A miner also ran over D.B's body but says he was already dead. I truly think the case was mistakenly solved but most of the suspects are dead now, so...

Hey cousin:
Call a store called McK's books in Oak Ridge - they stock this guys books. You're gonna be disappointed though, all these books are FICTION but supposedly based on a true story.
There are many stories in the holler and among the family about what really happened... Sadly, the real truth may never be known.

I remember going to see Jim and Harlan with my daddy and Jim would give my little brother a haircut with his old fasion clippers. We did go inside the old house one time and it was stacked with old newspapers and magazines. There was only paths that led through the house and we were sitting in front of the fireplace and Harlan would put big lumps of coal in the fire. It was so warm. They were good people. I was about 10 when some idiot killed Harlan.
