I worked in that mine in the 70's me my sisters whole family worked in there and there was no water in there they had beds made to grow mushroons and there were nothing weird about it except it was dark and you wore a light on ur head to see there were some rocks falling once in awhile it was dangerous to be in there it could fall in on everyone but we needed a job and we worked and never thought of the worst thing that could happen but I never seen no water in there and I was all the way back in that mine and the first part when you first walk in the mine theat was used for the lunch room, we rode on a wagon through there to pulled by a 4 wheeler to haul our mushroons out to the front I hit my arms and hips on rocks while picking mushroons when you would go around the corner of a mushroon bed you would hit on the rocks and it give me artheritis from working in there, but it was not that bad it was a job,
My mom and dad both worked there back in the 70's. I remember the helmets and the lights. And I think there was a yellow battery that they had to carry. Mom used to say it was hard work.

As for satanic worship in the Olive Hill area, I've heard of it for years and years. I had O.H. friends who claimed they were kidnapped by devil worshippers in Morehead many years ago. Of course, everyone ridiculed them, but they insisted it was true regardless. I've heard devil worshipping is a pretty common occurance at Cave Run Lake in Morehead.
Yes it happened at cave run also you better believe it did I have seen proof...

Duh! Why do you think it's called the limestone mine? Limestone was mined out of it in the beginning so that's where it got it's name.

First of all, it has an owner you know so you would be tresspassing. Secondly, there are places that have caved in and places where the water doesn't appear deep until you step into it & go over your head. Thirdly, it is easy to get lost in there unless you are very familiar with it. Looks like your parents are right this time--too dangerous. Why not just try to find one of those places (mentioned in an earlier post) at Cave Run Lake where they devil worship. Those would be out in the open. You could start by looking for a pentagram drawn or burned into the ground & residue of goat offerings.

I actually spent a few nights in the mines around 1997 when Johnny Markwell alledgedly owned the deed to the mines. It was very creepy and I got so sick with flu like symptoms after staying in there. Johnny had a semi truck parked in there pretty deep in and somebody stole his huge air compressor out of the mines an whoever did it had to have had a big truck in there to get it out. Johnny lost the mines when it was seized by th fbi due to them snoopin around and claiming to have found a meth lab and bodies in there. It definetley felt haunted. Weird noises, strange drafts, feelings of being watched or followed while exploring. Bad place, stay out. The leftover sterilized horse manure in th bins there does make an excellent garden amendment though!
