Arby's at Cannonsburg

I served in Pleiku Vietnam with the 1st Sig Brigade of the US Army from Dec 1966 until Nov 1967. My brother was killed in Kontum Vietnam in 1969 while serving with the 4th Inf Div US Army.
I am a member of the planning committee for the Vietnam Wall project that will be in Grayson KY Aug 30 thru Sep 3. Last Saturday I stopped at Arby's at Cannonsburg on US 60 on my way to Ashland. I asked if I could leave a poster advertising the Wall coming to Grayson. I was told that it was too controversial subject and I couldn't leave it there. This wall is part of the American Veteran's Traveling Tribute (AVTT). It not only has an 80 per cent replica of the Wall, but also a 911 tribute, Fort Hood and first responders tribute. Maybe I'm overreacting but when this young lady (I guess she was the manager) barely looked at the poster, said no and turned away it made me fell like I had just gotten home from Vietnam again.
The 3.2 million Americans who served in Vietnam including the 58,000 or so who lost their life there served and died so people like the ones in this restaurant would have the right to do what they did. As for me, I think they are too worried about being pc (politically correct), and not worried enough about being PC (patriotic citizen.)
I guess I've rambled on long enough but I won't be patronizing this Arby's Restaurant. I urge all veterans and especially Vietnam Veterans to avoid this restaurant also.
I do want to say that the Arby's in Grayson had one of the posters on their counter when I stopped there.

First and foremost let me say THANK YOU to you and all those who have proudly served and have lost anyone or anything due to your service. And for those that have lost thier lives, may you be at peace and forever fly with the angels. I will stand beside you and boycott this Arbys and will also spread the word. God Bless......

I normally don't say much about it. I flew with the USNS Core. We were the first helicopter units to arrive in Saigon, the 33 Vertol H-21 C Shawnee. We had about 400 crewman the first time we set them down. I usually don't say much about my time there but everytime I speak with anyone that was there I will always say thank you because we had each others back. We were BROTHERS IN ARMS. I have 17 family members names on that wall and many friends. I do understand the "slap in the face" over the poster. Your post has brought much remembering to me today. My name is Jeff and I'm sure I'll meet you at the wall. Best to you my friend..

I served with the First Infantry division in 1966-67. I too will not patronise the arbys in cannonsburg. Thanks for informing the public of how they feel about our service. I am so proud to Welcome my brothers home and I wear my baseball cap with the CMB so I can let others know I too am a proud Vietnam Veteran. Just a head up to the organizers of bringing the wall to Grayson.

My brother served in the Army during that war. He made it home alive but eight other boys from our town died in Viet Nam. Those who don't respect the American soldiers, from that time or anytime, are selfish cowards.
My family will no longer go to that Arby's.
Thank you for serving and protecting our country.
We remember, with gratitude, all soldiers and POWs.

To all the veterans Thank You...I will never be back to the Arbys at Cannonsburg.I would suggest calling the corprate office of Arbys. Clearly it wasn't store policy or Grayson Arbys wouldn't have one on display. Also please post this on the Ashland topix.
