Why the negative icons? It is the truth. They are closing because it would cost too much to fix the sewer lines. The owner (Juanita) has worked long enough and is done. If you dont believe me, call them , then report back what they told you.

i was not trying to be negative- just trying to be funny. i really hate to hear that another family business is closing. now some food chain that has the resources to fix up or tear down the building will come in.

As much as I love the Truck Stop it has went downhill over the years. The food isn't as great as it once was and it's pretty much run its course. Honestly, in my opinion, it has went downhill since the fire a few years ago. It's still sad though that a landmark is closing down. Family owned restaurants or Ma & Pa restaurants are few and far between anymore. So sad.

I also doubt that Cracker Barrel would purchase that establishment since they just recently opened a restaurant nearly 30 minutes away. I don't think they would put two restaurants that close together.

Cracker barrel is not buying it. It IS for sale, but it will be doubtful if anyone would be willing to spend what it would take to fix the place, plus the cost of the building/land as well.

That is really sad, I wish someone had the finances to buy it and keep some of the town's money in Olive Hill instead of sending what is left of it out to Morehead and Grayson... But unfortunately until the officials of the town vote to end the law of 1920 no real business will touch Olive Hill...

that truckstop closing down is ok with me! it was over priced, over rated and was a terrible place to try and eat.you could cut the nasty cigarette smoke with a knife in there. ever look at the t shirts on the wall in there and see how yellow they were with smoke? i will gladly take cracker barrel any day!

I remember when the Truck Stop opened.... I am saddened that it is closing... and for all the neg. remarks for some people, well you all are just plain heartless.... Olive Hill needs good business and the Truck Stop is one... I love it and will miss it!!!

got an ideal, why not buy it,as a group,an be the owners an the workers, with a profit charing, then ,olive hill could keep a business, people would have a chance,to buy, fix, expend it,where they could have a famous band to come in from time to time,an other things even local business meetings,an upgrade the fuel area, find a well popular fuel, company .where drivers has there fuel card.an keep it all old fashing, yes you have other close truck stops, but there fast pace ,an not down home frindly,an possible have showers for the drivers,or they could get a nice clean room ,at a fair price over nite

Ya know, Stew...not everyone has the opportunity for keyboarding classes, or can type well on a small keyboard. Others may not have had the opportunity of an education. You on the other hand are probably perfect. Or at least you are perfectly named, except you spelled it wrong.
