I don't like to call anyone stupid, but you need to wise up. Why did the State Attorney General have to send someone down here to see that justice was served a few years back, when the SA let a molesting case drag on and on? You would be surprised to know who the local person was that contacted a Chicago Judge, and convinced this Judge to get the State Attorney General on the case. And then there is the violations of the Open Meeting Act that the SA permits to go on with the county board at their meetings. The list can go on and on, but you get the point, I hope.

Please inform what you are talking about exactly? I never heard of a State Attorney General. There are State's Attorneys in every County and then there is an Attorney General for Illinois however the Attorney General of Illinois has no control over the individual State's Attorneys. Violations of the Open Meeting Act would not seem to be a major concern to anyone. I agree there should not be violations of the open meeting act however I am also sure that every type of board and council would have many such violations. Usually it is the press that complains about violations of the open meeting act because they want a story. Usually everything discussed in a closed meeting is talked about all over town that same night.

I honestly think that Jeff Farris has done a remarkable job over the years. He has a lot to deal with. His fair share of criminals, no money, and little if any help form at least the past sheriff and local law enforcement. So I would have to rate him high. Jeff has one of those types of jobs where somebody will get mad no matter what he does. I understand that some people do not like Jeff, Well maybe so but some people will not like the next guy also. At least Jeff knows everyone good and bad and from what I have seen has been fair with everyone. I know that there are some who will take this post personal but this is my personal opinion and I think that there are a whole lot of us, citizens of Alexander County with the same opinion. So go ahead and tell me how stupid I am.

No, you’re not stupid in the least. You actually sound like a very nice and intelligent person. And your assessment of our S.A. is a very generous one from what appears to be your perspective. And there in is probably the distortion.
To the casual citizen during casual public contact, most elected officials are on their best behavior. It’s their unseen alter personality that they keep hidden from the general public that defines who they “really” are. Jeff may go to church, sing like Sinatra and kiss enough babies to go through a Chap-Stick a day, but that’s not what the tax payers pay him a fat six figure salary for.
All one has to do is simply ask a few neighbors or parishioners their opinion and the picture should become clearer.

Does anyone know whether or not Jeff has ever lost his temper and had a real old fashioned tirade at any county board meeting. Just curious as to his ability to be professional 100% of the time.
