Absolutely!!! I am subject to random drug testing to keep my job - the one that keeps THEM sitting on their butt's enjoying the free ride!

read the article- "it's not about the money it's about the drug issue". The real question is why is taxpayer money being used. If you have enough money for drugs support yourself and your habit. Did you even bother to read the article?

It's about time that this issue was adresssed. If they don't pass the drug test, they should lose their benefits!

I have to submit to a drug test to work and make
$. I don't have a problem with that. The govt then takes my $, that I had to take a drug test for, and gives it away to those who refuse to work, and are free to lie around and get stoned all day. Yes this I do have a problem with.

I read the article too and I have a hard time believing that you are a lawyer, since you can't read or obtain basic information from newspaper articles. Only 108 people out of the 4k+ failed the drug test. ALL had to take the drug test which costs the state money. The amount spent on drug testing far surpassed the amount "saved" by booting those 108 from welfare. What part of this don't you understand?

Oh really? Recipients can recieve from $40,000 to $140,000, a year in welfare and benifits, times 108, that's a chunk of change. And also, that's why, the testing fee should be paid by the welfare recipient, usually taken out of the first check...as in some states already...

Since you like to read go to WIVB News and look up the article " most WNY leaders vote against gun bill" pay attention to Assemblyman David DiPietros comment that it is possible later in the year a bill may be presented to drug test all welfare recipients. Reread the article about cost and pay attention to the part that states it isn't about the money, it is about the drug issue. Worker has a good idea-take the cost of the drug test out of the recipients first check. Too bad drug testing doesn't work for you pointproven, support yourself and get off assistance and it won't apply to you. Circulate petitions and send them to Assemblyman David DiPietro, the time has come to make this law.

How many people chose to no longer collect welfare rather than be drug tested? What was the recipient reduction rate when the drug test were imposed? What was the overall monthly/yearly cost to taxpayers after the test were imposed compared to costs before the testing began? Put your "facts" into actual figures rather than try to manipulate a couple numbers to suit your needs. You don't impress me, not at all.
