Its about time, that place has turned into sespool and should be returned to nature and families and it is being patroled very heavily by police and they WILL get it under control by strict order of many influencial city council members, with full support of many cooporating police agencies.

What a coincidence, they are enforcing the laws now that condos are being built 50 yards away...hmmmm....

I love that little island and am DELIGHTED that the police will be enforcing "CIVILITY" out there.

It had become over-run by drunk, narcissistic, ignorant, and disrespectful people who wouldn't keep their dogs on leashes nor clean-up their "poop."

POLICE, please, keep the enforcement VERY STRICT.

Now, the rest of us "family people" can feel comfortable out there. Let the obnoxious rude people stay in their own homes until they learn what it means to act with CIVILITY!

Absolutely!! What does having a beer in your boat have to do with the birds. I can see the dog ban but this is a nice protected (from the wind) place to hang out and socialize with fellow boaters. If they just enforced the laws already in effect it would have been OK. But the developers are trying to sell $1,000,000 condos overlooking our little party place and I guess we would ruin the view. I hope they sit empty and they lose their arse!

Meanwhile, you will find me at Passage Key! Let me ammend that. I will ALSO come to Shell Island and make my appearance. Can't let them win altogether.

I wonder how many of the flyers they were handing out ended up in the water or sea oats??

"With no dogs around, black skimmers are getting ready to nest. " You have absolutely no proof that there is any correlation between these two occurrences. Please don't believe every thing you are fed by the Audubon society.

I don't think you can go to prison for having a dog and a beer in your boat. It is one of God's given rights.
