While on one hand, I understand where the dauther and her husband are comming from...I think their desire to have the body exhumed from Ft Logan has no merit. As the Sen Udall said, Blackwell was not convicted of a capital crime and also he was honorably discharged from the air force...as odious as the allegations are...Blackwell is still entitled to his rights, etc as a soldier. Also, this begs other questions...if their request to have the body and exhumed is granted...where is it going to be buried? Who pays for it? Are they wanting to dump it on the surviving spouse to pay for the re-burial? Then this will give rise to any other person saying this or that about someone buried and wanting them out. Lastly, why now? Why did not the daughter pursue the matter when he died...maybe she did, we do not know.

One word! Therapy! Anger can sure take a strong hold on people...but he's dead! It does not matter what you do to his "shell" because it will not affect him in any way. He isn't there! I understand that a baby girl has died....but at the same time, she is still dying and this guy is still "winning" your time and emotion and energy even after his death. Let go...and stop letting HIM and his actions control your daily life!!! He's being judged...don't worry. Have faith that he's getting what he deserves already!

Wow!
I grew up in the same kind of environment. My father pretty much killed my baby sister when she was 6 months old. He's a Korean War Vet and will be buried at Ft Logan too. He beat us with cords, sticks, fists, pretty much anything he could find and molested my sisters and I since I can remember! He's a shriveled up little old man now all alone because we all dispise him.

Is he a disgrace to the uniform....YES. Is he a disgrace to the men and women buried at Ft logan....YES. Should he be buried at Ft Logan.....NO. He was honorably discharged for serving our country which is why he is buried at Ft Logan and I'm sure he will remain buried at Ft Logan.

This is sad to hear of something happening to this family like that. I understand why they want the truth to heal. It's hard after so many years to heal and go on with your life. GOD, has taken care of you this far keep trusting in him and let go. I pray that your family comes together and help one another. What happend happened and no on can change that. Keep your heards up! You did nothing wrong it was them. Well it' was told to me that it was him. So I have to keep believing in GOD because he has brought me a long way also. You and your family will always be in my prayers.

I just want to say let the man rest in hell because that's where he is. Nothing will come of moving any one. Judge not ye they be judged. Why is this in the BIBLE if we say we are believers of GOD, it comes from Matthew ch-7 vs-1;2. I'm judging yes, I am and he should burn in hell for what he done. I try not to judge any one with out judging myself. I've been put though hell and I go over it. You never for get beleive me. It hunts me each and every day. But, I have to remember GOD took care of me and will take care of them in his own way. We have to leave it in his hands not ours.

In the 1960's, Dr. C. Henry Kempe, a Denver pediatrician, wrote the paper "The Battered Child Syndrome" in order to get our society to see child abuse as a true crime. This sad news story shows how society did not punish or treat child abuse prior to Dr. Kempe. Dr. Kempe's paper was written after this poor baby's death, but it served to revolutionize the way abusers are viewed and punished. Today, The Kempe Foundation is still carrying on the amazing work of Dr. Kempe (who was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize)- find out more at kempe.org

I can only hope your apathy isn't shared by many. I also hope, that if there's a just God, if there's a God, period. I hope he holds a special place in H--l for monsters like Blackwell

Jeez...wouldn't it be nice to be able to do something like that!! I agree with you! It takes so long for victims (true victims) to able to cope with horrific crimes. Vengence would make me feel as if I hade some kind of retribution.

I'm sure that this person who posted has at least a little bit as her father is now alone. As he should be.

I'd like to know who is paying the bill to dispose of his remains once or if he gets moved from Ft. Logan. Most certainly it will not be the cemetery.

cruelty to children and no page 11 entry or NJP or Court Martial? Sounds like the Air Force was still operating in 1963 as they do today.

That is amazing how both of your stories correlate to eachother. I just wanted to tell you that I am sorry you had to go through that. No one should have too endure that kind of physical, emotional and sexual abuse. It also sounds like you have grown up to be nothing like that man, which is good, stay strong and now that there are people out there in support of you and your siblings. Take care

Talk about people needing attention. What is the point of all this? Let me guess, their lives are a mess, and them finding out that there dad was a jerk is their big excuse now.

As if he was keeping you from doing that from beyond the grave? If I had to bet, I'd say all the kids are probably strippers.
