Here's the truth. Your taxes are not really going to go down. What will happen is the taxes on the commercial properties down the street will go to Oldsmar instead of to Pinellas County.
Oldsmar could care less about you but we are prepared to bribe/coerce/do whatever it takes to use you to get the tax revenues from those commercial properties. If the annexation were just your properties, Oldsmar would be laughing at your request to be annexed. Key is the commercial properties. That is what we really want - not you.
