Poor Customer Service

Haines City, FL

#1 Jan 24, 2009
What a disappointment.

When I first entered Cole's, I was really impressed. I saw a wide selection of guns with onsite gunsmiths to boot, all just 5 blocks from my house. I thought I was in heaven. That was until I spoke to the resident store jerk with a coffee cup. To say that this guy needed a lesson in customer service would be an understatement. I was looking to purchase a Benelli M2 they had on the wall and ended up getting alot of attitude when I asked to hold the gun and inspect it more closely. It appeared that he was upset that he had to set his coffee cup down to assist me. Needless to say, I left with no interest in spending my hard earned money on that type of customer service.

2 months later I was in the middle of a out of state purchase and had issues with the FFL holder involved in the process. I decided to give Cole's another try, figuring maybe I caught them on a bad day. I paid for the FFL transfer upfront, paid for my records check, and then waited. 4 business days and 3 unfulfilled promises later, the FFL still hadn't been faxed to the out of state store. I finally had to contact the owner directly to get the FFL faxed. In the end, I had to wait a week to get my gun transferred because of their inability to handle something as simple as sendinga fax. During that process, I spoke to all 5 of Cole's "counter" personel, including the owner. Of those 5 people, only one of them (Carl) treated me like a customer. The rest treated me like an annoyance.

Needless to say I will not be giving Cole's anymore of my business. It always worries me when something as simple as sending a fax becomes a week long endevour. If they can't handle something that simple, what other issues lie hidden behind the counter?

Thanks,

An Unhappy Cole's Customer

bought 3 guns from them, had a problem with a gun jamming, they blew me off and wouldn't even look at it. had no problem paying shipping or anything else,i guess if not paying for something your just a nat/pest, somthing to go away.

last time I'll ever go back.

I called Cole's about an issue with my AL391 Urika and must have got one of the same sweethearts you other guys got. A company called Angle Port does a lot of custom Beretta Auto-loader works and bends over backwards for you. Briley, the company who makes the sub-gauge tubes, also does nice upgrades to Beretta auto loaders. Lets hope the current economy finishes off the company's who do not understand "Unexpected Service". All companies are supposed to give good service, or people should boycott them. The company's which prosper are the ones who give "Unexpected Service". All together now "Good By Cole's"!

I have bought many guns there and still do and they always have the best deals in town by far.

As for their customer service, I never did have a problem there.

You crybabies expect everyone to treat you like your mom with the "My son's a super person at Wussboy high School" bumpersticker on the minivan. I have been into Coles several times, I have never been treated to warm milk, cookies or a hug, NOR have I been treated with disrespect or contempt. I have always gotten good service and spot on advice. It's a gun shop, if your feeling are that easy to hurt just take your ball and go home. If you have a problem with them, man up and go talk to the owner instead of being a keyboard tough guy.

I bought my very first gun from Coles. They were helpful and took the time to make sure I was getting the right gun. I got a Smith & Wesson 6 4 2 without a thumb cocker. I picked this gun because they explained that I could shoot this gun inside my purse without taking it out if I was attacked. Showed me how to clean it. I have been back quite a few times with friends and have always been treated great. Coles is a good store and has good employees. I suggest some of you "put your BIG GIRL panties on" as the one guy said It's a gun store after all. Kat.

been at that place, go for the pricing- it seems to be lowest there. I had the gunsmiths work on my stuff-no problems, You guys may have gone at a busy time and not everyone can please everybody but they always seem crowded and have a wide selection. no problems from me.

I bought my first handgun from Coles and found the customer service to be excellent in spite of my somewhat inexperience making a handgun purchase. The salesman was courteous and took the time to answere all my questions. Service after the sale was also great. I would recommend this shop to anyone wanting to buy a handgun or any other type of firearm.

Great store with the best prices in town by far. By the way, the dumb Greek speaks three languages and has a masters in engineering.

I've been going to cole's gunshop since when Jerry Cole owned the establishment. Even now the customer service, weapon selection, and the prices are the best in the area!! But to the few of the cry babies that posted on here, it's a gun shop; if you want customer service like them treating you like a baby and wiping your ass then go to a restaurant.

Customer service in that store is awful it is overpriced and full of old fools who should have no business working in a gun store.Only person who works there who is nice is the big burly man with an accent he is the owner there I guess only one in there with an idea of what customer service. But, other than that the rest should be fired for being rude and apethetic geezers.

And a side note I dont give a f%%%%%g s**t if it is a gun store if I come in with money in my pocket and might buy one of their products that costs hundreds to thousands of dollars.I expect a minimal amount of respect and help when I ask nicely for it if I get a mean response or no attention at all then I will leave and they will never get a cent from me ever.If you guys like to be treated like a peice of $^&t then go ahead but I prefer to be treated with some dignity and respect.

Truth is that all gunshops have the same problem. Employees think that they know everything and don't pay attention to most customers, unless they know you. I have been buying guns for more than 10 years now and I have been to all gunshops in Clearwater. There is no comparison to Coles regarding selection and prices. Coles is the largest, best equipped and cheapest gun store in Clearwater. The big man (I guess he is the owner) is highly educated, knows his stuff, ex military guy, is always helpful and tries his best to make everybody happy. I always deal with him and I have no complains.
As for the other old guys who work there, in my opinion are much better and more helpful than the old guys who work in other similar places, where the only thing that they do is read magazines, talk about war stories and drink coffee. Customer service, price and product selection is everything in this market and in my opinion Coles is way ahead of all the other gunshops in Clearwater when it comes down to one of these three factors.

I'm a first time gun buyer I've been into to Coles a number of times and not once have I gotten bad treatment. They have gone way beyond into helping me get the right gun as well as other equipment that was needed. It is true that they have the best prices in town the owner Taso told me to shop around and that if I saw a cheaper price that he would beat it. Simply put I will be a Coles customer for life and it's true that they are the best in town. So don't listen to people ranting about how they are bad cause they are not I can that some of these claims are over exagerated go into to Coles for yourself and you'll see that there service is great!
