“Nostalgia: The World's Music, 1939-1945" at Experience Long Island-2009, on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27 at 1 p.m.

This is a multilingual performance of songs from World War II, that brought peace, hope, love and healing to people of all nations. We will rejoice in the human spirit that prevailed with the inspiration of music during this catastrophic time in history. We hope the program will help us all remember to be inspired by the lyrics and music we love during the storms we face today.

French, Greek & English while other wonderful singers, under the musical direction of Kelly Horsted (www.kellyhorsted.com ), will be performing in German, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, and Arabic.

For those who are hearing impaired Nostalgia is proud to be the first program at the festival to incorporate signing with singing, thanks to the talents of sign language interpreters Evelyn Campfield and Fran Rolino.

Experience Long Island-2009 is the first-ever, three-day Long Island arts event in the tradition of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which has been taking place in cities around our nation and around the world for 60 years.
