This was a match made in heaven. A controversial political party hires someone just like themselves. Better put extra money in the town legal expense line item. This guy sounds like a dousey!!!!

Forced resignation after 4 months? Hiring lawyers to investigate complaints against him? A $15,000 national search and this is the best these dummies could come up with? The last two years will be nothing compared to what's to come.

YEAH!!! I for one could not be happier. THe last two years have been divisive and nasty with all of the political maneuvering by the poor losers from the last election. I say let the nastiness be over and welcome the change.

Change is good! Hey...lets give the guy a chance, but a pretty nice salary though. I dont know what everyone's "beef" is with da Police. I have never had a problem. Hey I know...stop causing trouble and problems and maybe they'll leave you alone?? Your mother should have taught you that stuff a long time ago. I cant believe the CVS was approved!!!! This guy sounds ok so far, I am sure he can "fix" some stuff. I highly doubt the Chatham Party will be re-elected.

WHo cares if the Chathamm Party is re-elected or not. We have a new Town Manager. I don't care who you are or what you're position is, this needed to happen and the town is better off for it. Personally, I'm voting for the CHathamm Party becuase they had the guts to do what needed to be done. It couldn't have been easy to get Alan out of that office.

Change is Good! People like Engel, Rand, and Burt will not have the control they once had. East Hampton is being freed to the masses!!

Funny considering her husband is running against the Chatham party as a Jim Morris Democrat.

Whether you like the CP or not, a new Towm manager that will actually manage and not just cave it has been needed.

Personally, I'll vote for the Chatham party because they did what had to be done. We need people like that in charge.

Vlad you have your head upo your butt. What power have Engel and Devine has with the Chathamm 5 in power. Don't forget the Chathamm party and their secret meetings. when your outovted 5-2 you don't have much say. And before that the Democrats were in control. the Democrats would probably let them talk. The last 2 years have been a reign of terror and stupidty

He's a political gadfly. People laugh at and ignore his rantings. I look forward to seeing what hot button he will push (and push and push) every week until the button is broken. As I mentioned before, I'm voting for the Chatham people just to piss this guy off and because I like them.

Regardless of whoever wins the election, for better or for worse, East Hampton will be a much different town come January. I believe that is why the vast majority of the voters put the Chatham people on the council 2 years ago. Remember that election? It was the largest dumping of incumbent candidates in the state. It wasn't a landslide; it was a revolution! Voters were sick and tired of the "Good Old Boys" highlighted by the uncontested demolition of the old EH Mall and elimination of all of those small established local businesses. From their silence, it seemed as if the council was on the side of the developers. <gasp!> In hindsight, we all know it could have been handled much better by the council.... but they didn't and paid the ultimate price. That's politics and public opinion. The losers have been trying to spin every town council decision against the Chatham members ever since. We see that all too clearly.

They were green behind the ears when they started and accomplished more in 2 years than most councils from the previous decade. And that really got Mr. Morris upset, which gave us some weekly comedy to read.

So hang on for a good ride, Mr. New City Manager, because you'll be getting pulled in many directions. Stick to your guns and remember that the citizens of this town should come first.

And a big thank you to retiring members Bob Berlin and Derek Johnson. You stepped up to fill a vacuum in our town government making a considerable commitment in time and effort. The town owes you a debt of gratitude for your public service.

That's right Ricky, you've got it 100% right! Can't wait to see this guy in action. Another new day is dawning in East Hampton and from this perspective it's going to be a bright one!

Anyone who is afraid must have a reason to be.
sick of negativity

I for one am sick of all the juvenile, negative behavior from ALL the political agenda's in East Hampton. I am embarrassed at how this town has been portrayed to the rest of the state, and quite frankly all three parties need to grow up and stop acting like this was high school. Change is good, however positive change is better and I don't believe East Hampton has seen any positive change in years...THIS change?
A confrontational, controversial town manager who behaves like a dictator; firing anyone who disagrees and who won't be 100% on his team...yup, this town is already a hotbed of negativity...this will be helpful, NOT! This is a page from the corporate world, bring in someone to clean house when the company is not performing up to standards...doesn't work in the corporate world, there are plenty of battered and damaged small/medium (and large) companies to prove that, and there is no place for someone like that in small town government.
